It was like the day I left town with Tyven, only this time I could actually consider it kidnapping.  Seren’s brother is crazy.  First he dragged me to his brown GMC ignoring my protests by slapping his hand over my mouth, and then he dumped me into the trunk.  If he’d asked nicely, I could have stayed quiet.  I definitely would have told Seren, but he wouldn’t know that.

“Let me out of the fucking trunk!”  I yelled while I kicked in every direction.  Suddenly I regretted walking to the school and leaving no evidence or trail as to where I was.  Or in this case: had been because now the car was moving.  Yet again I’d been stupid.

“You won’t get away with this!”  I tried.  There was no reply.  What an ass.  Instead of wasting my strength, I rummaged around the trunk to see if there was anything useful.  After a few seconds, I came up empty handed.

Not long after I gave up, I felt the car starting to slow down.  Then the vehicle came to a standstill.  I braced myself when the car door opened and closed.  The trunk opened and I sent a kick flying out.  My tennis shoe connected with something soft and I heard a cracking sound.  That was all the encouragement I needed and I was instantly out of the trunk and running.

“You Bitch!”  I heard him yell from behind me.

My surroundings were not familiar.  The ground was made of dirt and the only landmark in sight was a large faded red barn surrounded by long patches of trees.  I heard the clopping of boots as I pushed myself to run faster.  I really need to practice my cardio.

I almost made it to the trees when Seren’s brother tackled me to the grassy floor.  I screamed and grabbed at the grass trying to crawl away.  But he wasn’t going to let me get away so easily.  He yanked me back towards him by my ankles.  My shorts instantly became covered in dust and my shirt inched up my body.

“Let me go you Bastard!”  I screamed.

He gripped my left arm and reached for the other to pin them down when my hand found a good sized rock that I smashed into his temple.  It was then I saw my kick had broken his nose.  Seren’s brother fell onto the grass as he held the side of his head in pain and I forced my body to stand up.

Seren’s brother laughed without humor.  “Did you just hit me with a rock?”

I stared at him in horror.  This was not going to end well if I didn’t find a way out of here and soon.  He glared up at me but all I saw was the blood dripping from his nose and the side of his head.

“Look.  I didn’t mean to.  You attacked me first.”  The panic in my voice gave away just how terrified I was.

He pushed himself into a standing position.  “You’re going to wish you hadn’t done that.”

                If looks could kill…

I tried to run, but this time I had no chance.  He grabbed the back of my neck and used my body weight to thrust me at a tree.  My hands slapped onto the bark but couldn’t stop my body’s momentum and my face smashed into the trunk of the tree.  I felt the warm red liquid as it seeped down my chin.  I reached up to touch it, but two arms enveloped me and yanked me to the left.
