Chapter 3, The New Squad

After the major graduation, we headed to our quarters on the Venator class cruiser. I packed my stuff in my locker as well as my armor and laid on my bed. From what I heard, I was going to be placed into a new squad. I'm hoping it'll be a squad I'll get along with. My CO; Captain Rex has assigned our squad to patrol the buildings on Christophis. I always wanted to visit that planet, it was shiny, had so many crystals, and civilians, but the worst part is that the Seppie's had control over the planet. The Senate has engaged a full invasion to take back the planet. Both Generals Obi-Wan and Skywalkers forces will both be working together on this operation. I couldn't wait, this would actually be my first mission. However, other clones went through the worst...I heard the Battle of Geonosis was devastating. None of the Clones were prepared for such a thing, it was a bloody mess. I sinked in my bed thinking about all the adventures I'd have on Christophis...or even if I'll survive. But I knew, I was prepared to lay down my life for the Republic. In a few moments, I'm about to meet the legends themselves! General Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as Commander Cody and of course I have already met Captain Rex. However, my job might not be fun after all, I heard all we're doing is recon. But, I guess I should be honored since it is my first mission. I began to fall into a deep sleep. BOOM! I woke up immediately. The alarms began to go off, and the 501st were called to the hangar for debrief immediately. I opened my locker and saw my new shiny white armor. I then put on my helmet and suddenly so many Clone Troopers were chatting on the comm links, it was total chaos. I ran down the hallways as quickly as I could, I then turned to my right and saw a Trooper doing the same.

"Hey you, what's going on?" I said.

"Apparently we've jumped out of hyperspace and the fleet has already engaged the Separatists blockade. General Skywalker has ordered everyone to head to the hangar immediately." Said the Trooper.

"Alright." I said in response.

Finally, I arrived at the hangar and saw thousands of troops lined up in front of the commanding officers. I ran up to Captain Rex.

"CT-7456, Sharp, reporting for duty, Sir!" I shouted.

"Fall in, Trooper." Rex said.

I saluted and fell in line. General Skywalker stepped up and began the debrief.

"Alright, Troopers settle down now. Listen up, we're going to engage a full planetary invasion on Christophis. It won't be easy but we'll get the job done. Our main objective is to capture the Separatist outpost before they can call for reinforcements. Before we do attack, we'll send out a few recon squads to check out the outpost and then we'll discuss our plan of attack. After the 501st have swooped in and taken the outpost, we'll secure it and allow the 212th push up and engage the enemy reinforcements. And remember men, be wary and cautious of what you do because we won't be getting ANY reinforcements after a while. After we've destroyed their reinforcements we will hold the line, set up our cannons, and allow them to do the rest until reinforcements arrive. Am I understood?"

"SIR YES SIR!" We all shouted.

Captain Rex stepped forward and took command.

"Alright, gather by squad and enter the gunships! Hold tight boys, it's gonna be a long ride." He said.

I headed towards my squad and met my Sergeant.

"CT-7456 reporting for duty, Sir!" I said.

"Welcome, my name is Immortal, but you can call me Sarge. I expect the best from you, shiny. No screw ups I want perfection!" Said Immortal.
