The Enchanted Romance

Ch.23

-1 week has passed-

James has been very distant ever since the effect of the flower. We haven't kissed or touch. He has been acting like a teacher. We have been having 2 hour lessons and just talk about spells. He hasn't looked me in the eyes or even touch my hand. I feel alone even though he is right next to me. Every time I try to talk to him, he goes somewhere else or leaves to other house. He doesn't know that I know how to open the portal. School is coming soon and I don't want him distant when we go. Is he going to breaking up with me?

I tap my rosary and rose spawns in front of me.

"Rose, something is wrong," I say in a crack like voice about to cry.

"Why? What did my brother do?" she asks. I see in her voice that there is worry.

"He is very distant. He won't talk to me besides my lessons and leaves after I try talking to him." I say.

"Well you should talk to him." Rose says.

"How can I? When he will just leave?" I say disappointed. She thought for a little bit. When she reaches for an idea she makes a face.

"Let's go to James's room. She said while puling on my arm. She pulls me to James's room and all I get is 'this is a bad idea'.

"Can I ask why we are going to James's room?" I ask. She kept silent. That's how I know that what we are doing something dangerous. We are now in front of James's door. She didn't hesitate to slam the door open. Luckily he wasn't in here.

"Okay what now?" I ask smug. She ignores me and starts looking.

"Come on! Tell me! I can help?!" I tell her. She inhales and exhales a big sigh.

"Fine! We need an isolation spell. Look over there." She says with no eye contact and points away west. I obey and start looking. I opened one book and then remembered he taught me a finding spell yesterday.

"ROSE! Stand back I remembered something from yesterday." I say focusing with my eyes closed. I heard her footsteps slowly going backwards. I mumbled the words and began to move my hands like how James showed me. He said to say the thing I am looking for out loud.

"Isolation spell." I yell out while I open my eyes. The room was spinning with books. And the word isolation is glowing red on a few books but the spell only chose 2. Then I slowly brought my arms down and the books were placed back into the shelfs. I turned to Rose and she was wide mouthed. I giggled and went toward the books.

I picked them up and opened one. Luckily the spell had left a red tab on a page. I looked at Rose and she was still surprised. I placed the books down and shook Rose.

"Come on! Are you that surprised that I did that spell. . . CORECTLY!?" I yelled out.

"Yes. I knew you were clumsy but I actually didn't expect you to do that correctly and perfectly." She said not moving.

"Forget it, we have stuff to do," I say and walk back to the books. She followed. The first book was very hard to read. We began the other book and it better than the first. But I understood it.

"You explained the spell. Will you tell me the complete plan now!?" I asked demanding.

"So we- I mean you are going to the other dimension and place the isolation spell and talk to him. Do whatever you got to do!" she said raising her eye brows.

"Ew, I need to know what I did or why is he is mad at me or-" I say but was interrupted by Rose.

"Don't care. I am here just to help, don't really care what it is. . . But you better tell me after okay," she said in a non-caring way. I know 100% that she cares and really wants to know what's up with her brother and I.
