Cyrus P.O.V.

I love Rockwater. It's the place I've grown up in my entire life. It's the best place in the world.

Actually, I've never been outside of here. Its always been the same place my entire life. Born in Rockwater Hospital. Went to Rockwater Elementary. Going to Rockwater Middle School right now with my friend who has also never been outside of here.

"Cyrus! Are you even listening to me?" Andi asks. She's my best friend. We've known each other our whole lives.

"Not really, sorry..." I reply, rubbing the back of my neck. I wasn't paying attention because she started talking about shoes. I was more interested in the scenery.

The trees were beautiful. The leaves on them were a nice crimson and sunset orange color. The grass was perfectly cut with little slivers of sunlight coming through the branches and illuminating some spots. The shadows of large mountains in the background grabbed your attention and never wanted to let go. It was all breathtaking. Like it came out of a postcard.

"I asked you if you wanted to go to The Spoon later. Is that a yes or a no?" She asks. I pull my attention towards her again as I nod my head in response. The Spoon was our usual hang out spot. It serves the best food, especially the baby taters. I smiled just thinking about them.

I look forward and my face drops, realizing we're already on school grounds. It's a nice size school; able to hold about 200 students. Enough students to befriend me, or hate me. Sadly, most people hate me.

I walk into the busy halls quickly with my head down, hoping nobody will notice me. I manage to get to my locker without dragging attention to myself and I speed off to my first period. Thank God, I think to myself.

I look around the classroom and realize that Mrs. Diane, my teacher, is already at her desk. She looks up from her computer screen and looks at me for a second before returning to her work. "Hello Cyrus," she says while typing. I'm always the first person in here everyday, so she was probably expecting me.

"Hello Mrs. Diane," I say while setting my bag down next to my assigned seat. I look at the clock on the wall. I still have 10 more minutes before class starts. I sit down and take a pen and paper out to start doodling. I'm about halfway down the paper when I hear the door open. I look down at my watch and realize that we still have 5 minutes until class starts. Usually I'm the only one to get here early. I look at the door and as soon as I do, I regret it.

The person at the door is the schools biggest mean girl, Jessica Dagger. Even her name is intimidating. Whats even worse is that she likes me. Normally I would be over the moon for someone to even acknowledge me, but if that person just so happens to be the schools biggest mean girl, drama queen, and all-know she-devil, then no. I would not be happy.

She shouldn't even be in here. This isn't even her first period! I say in my head. I don't even want to think about her anymore. I'll just ignore her. Easier said then done.

"Mrs. Diane, I have a question about last night's homework," the she-devil says. Jessica glances over at me and gives me a small smirk. I don't understand until I look at her paper. It hasn't even been started. Which means that Mrs. Diane will have to help her for a long time.

Mrs. Diane looks over at me and I start to move my hands across my neck to indicate I don't want her to help Jessica right now. She gives me a small nod and I sigh in relief. Mrs. Diane is the best.

"Don't you have my class 5th period?" She asks. "Well yes, but-" Jessica starts, only to get cut off by Mrs. Diane. "Then I'll be able to help you during lunch." She says with a smile.

"Ugh! Fine!" Jessica snaps. She stomps out of the classroom, glancing at Mrs. Diane with a look of hatred. Once the door closes, I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding in. I look at my teacher and she smirks at me.

"You really don't like her, do you?" I shake my head vigorously. "I despise her. She always causes drama, she always torments kids, and almost never follows the rules The People tell us. I don't even know how she hasn't been banished yet." I say. She just nods and gets back to her work. I'm so glad she gets me.

~Time Skip~

I look at my watch and realize that the day is almost over. I have a mini dance party inside my head because the sooner school's over, the sooner I get to have baby taters. Yes!!

Before I know it, the bell is ringing and I'm waiting for Andi at the front of the school. Once she comes out, we start our journey to The Spoon.

The walk usually doesn't take too long. Normally it's filled with smalltalk about classes and stuff like that. But today was different. Andi wasn't talking. I looked over at her and she looked perplexed. Like there was something she wasn't telling me.

"Hey, are you okay?" I ask as she pushed open the door to the restaurant. She looked over at me and gave me a false smile. "Yeah, I'm fine." I furrowed my eyebrows as we sat at our usual table by the window. "Are you sure? You look like you have something on your mind," I tell her. She places her head in her hand and looks out the window. She slowly nods, but I don't believe her. I won't push it, though. Eventually she'll tell me on her own.

Hey people. This is my first story. I'm sorry it sucks. Hopefully it gets better.
