Maia's P.O.V

The car accident passed, me and my mom got out of the hospital 2 weeks after it happen. Cameron went everyday after school to visit me in the hospital and when my dad worked Cameron's mom took care of Camila, my little sister who was only 3 years old. I know you wonder, who was she staying with the day of the car crash ? She was in a playdate and Cameron's mom went to pick her up to take her to the hospital.

Another year flew by and today was June 4th. That night we had dinner and got ready for bed, so I turned on the TV because I really hate sleeping in the dark, I tucked in. Once I closed my eyes, I heard heavy breathing and screaming over at my parent's room. I fastly stood up, Camila's room was next to mine so when she was running over to the room but I slowed her down. We entered the room and saw my mom screaming and pushing my dad's chest up and down, giving him breaths.

"Breathe, honey, breathe !" my mom was saying over and over

"Maia your dad's heart just stopped go get the phone downstairs and call 911, take Camila with you, I don't want her to get scared." my mom told me, so I took Camila's hand and ran downstairs.

"What's happening to daddy ?" Camila says scared,

"He is ok Cami, he is ok, we just need to call 911" I told her and took the phone, I was shaking,

"Hello ? I need an ambulance here right now ! my dad's heart just stopped !" I told the person who picked up my call.

"Ok, honey, come down...give us your name and adress and in the meantime we get there, give your dad breaths, push down his chest and repeat" I did what they told me to, and called over to Cameron's house,

"Hello ?" his mom answered.

"Libby ? listen, this is an emergency my dad's heart stopped and the ambulance it's on it's way but I need you to take me and Camila with you" I said as clear as I could.

"Ok, Maia ! come down we let me change and tell Cameron, we'll be right over." she told me and then hang up the call.

We heard the ambulance so we opened the door and the ambulance guys came in with a stretcher to put my dad in. We saw Cameron and his mom running from their house to ours.

"Why didn't you knock on our door ?" Cameron asked me.

"Because you would have been more scared !" I told him.

"Ok, it dosen't matter, let's go" his mom said taking us outside.

"Wait ! It's cold here !" Camila said.

"Let me go get our coats" I told her while Cameron led Camila to the car. I came back with only her coat, I was so hurried that I prefered to die of cold than arrive late to the hospital.

We took my dad there but my mom told me to go back home with Camila and Libby.

"Mom ! No ! I'm staying here until I know what's wrong with Dad !"

"Sorry sweetie, I promise I will tell you everything in the morning !" she told me.

"But Camila and I can't be home alone !" I told her trying to give an excuse to stay.

"Libby and Cameron will be home with you, don't worry honey, everything will be fine"

Finally, I went back home with Cameron, Camila and Cameron's Mom.

"You kids are hungry ?" she said, breaking the ice.

"yeah, why not ?" I said

"I'll make you some sandwiches" Libby says, she staid in the kitchen and we went upstairs, Cami and I were in our Parent's room, and Cameron was going to sleep in my room. Cami and I weren't sleepy so we watched Spongebob for a while.

"knock, knock" I heard, it was Cameron.

"Hey Cam" I said, Camila had already fell asleep in my arms, so I tucked her in the bed. A couple of minutes later Libby came in with the sandwiches, she said to eat them and go to sleep.

"Don't worry Maia everything will be ok" he said to me while we were eating, we both fell asleep in the floor after we ate. Cameron's mom put some blankets on top of us so we wouldn't freeze in the middle of the night.
