Cameron's P.O.V
It has been already a year since the car accident and since Maia and her mom got out of the hospital. Today was June 5th, I spent the night at Maia's after everything happen. I woke up to see Camila in the bed by her own and me alone in the floor. I went downstairs and saw my mom talking with Maia's.
"Hi Cam, Maia is in the backyard... be easy on her, she is really depressed" her mom said with a frown.
"What happen ? is she ok ?" I asked, scared.
"Wait until she tells you" her mom said, I walked to the backyard.
I saw Maia seating in the swinging bench with a flower in her hands, looking down, swinging alone, just like the day we met.
"Maia ? what's wrong, I haven't seen you like this in months..." She looked up at me, she was crying.
"You remember my dad right ?" she told me.
"Of course I do" I told her. The first time I met her dad he was sick, really sick, and he never healed through the years, they gave him medicine, he got better but never completly healed.
"You know the story from last night... but not completly..." She said.
"Well then... tell me from the begining" she sighed and started talking...
"Before we went to sleep, he said that he felt really bad, that he couldn't breathe, that he needed to go to the hospital, so we took him..." she said leaning into my shoulder, I had my arm around her, comforting her.
"I know from there on but... what happen ?" I asked.
"My mom said that...the doctors took him into a room, and then came back, without him, and with a frown on their face. They said his heart stopped, really bad, and they did everything to bring him back but it was too late." she said with a tear falling from her face.
"Listen, Maia... look at me" I told her holding her by the cheeks slightly and making it look into mine.
"Everything will be alright. I promise." Maia herself knows that when I promise something I never break the promise.
"What about my mom ? and Camila ?" she said.
"Listen, they will be ok too, remember when the car accident ?"-
"when your mom took care of Camila when we were in the hospital for 2 weeks because my dad was working ? yes" she said
"Yeah, I said everything was going to be ok, now, isn't it ? Just like I promised." I said
"Ok, everything will be alright" Maia said with a little smile.
"You are the bestest friend ever" Maia says again. I was scared at that moment, I always thought the I love you in the hospital after the crash car was more than friends, but for her it's just as that. I was going to tell her how I felt, but I think I need to wait a little now.
