After the interview, the man, Shiro, he had told her, had invited her to come get some food, and she had obediently followed.
the room was almost entirely white. there was a wall lined with dispensers and, in the middle an island that had a slight u shape toward the dispensing side of the room. he showed her how to work the machines, and then left, saying he'd check up on her when he was ready to discuss where she would go next.
while she ate she wondered where she could go. she looked like gaulra, but maybe they would understand. everyone seemed kind on this ship, though they also seemed curious and maybe a little bit frightened. she wanted them to trust her but she wasn't sure they would.
just then the door opened and a large figure walked in. she ducked under the table, not wanting to be seen.
"hello? is anyone hear? Pidge? lance?Shiro? Allura?Coran?"a voice asked."that's weird, I think I heard a swoosh." I heard footsteps coming toward me, so I huddled closer to the wall.
he walked past the island where I was huddled and right to the dispensers. the sound of goo plopping into a bowl echoed around the room.
maybe I can get out the door without him noticing?
Lyra got up, trying to be as quiet as possible, and tiptoed towards the door. she had just reached the frame when she heard, "hey! what are you doing?!" she heard footsteps coming toward her and sprinted out the door, spooked, like a frightened horse.
she rushed down the hall and towards her room, trying to escape the large person, who had followed her she reached her door, rushed in, and set the lock in place. she went to her closet and flung herself behind the hanging cloths. Lyra heard banging in her bedroom and inched farther behind the cloths. then she heard a calmer more composed voice.
"Lyra? are you in hear?"
Its shiro?! she realized
"you can come out now. Its okay."
she crept out of the closet, and quietly opened the door to the bedroom, ears back. shiro was standing and the big guy was behind him, clearly not out to get her.
