when she had cleaned herself of the seemingly ever present grim that had encrusted her for the years she had spent in the bowls of a gaulra ship, she stared at herself in the mirror. she was angry at the gaulra empire that had destroyed her hopes and dreams, and made her into this.

her appearance was very different from the last time she had seen herself in a reflection. her ears were no longer rounded and human shaped, but pointed, and furry. she reached up to touch them and discovered that they were sleek and very smooth. she giggled at that. her eyes were entirely yellow, no pupil. her skin was a light shade of purple, and her hands were pointed. she was much taller, and she was on the verge of tears when she realized that the only thing that was human about her was the long wavy hair that reached her hips, and even that was violet.

what else did they do to me? she thought.

she walked back into her room to remember that she had no cloths. she went back into the bathroom, wondering where she could find some and not be exposed in a hallway deep in the bowls of this ship. she found a door that she had not noticed before and opened it. Inside a few long white shirts hung along with what seemed to be black leggings. she took those, and put them on. then she walked back into the bed room.

she sat on her bed, thinking about what she could do to pass time, when a man walked through the door. his hair was mostly black, except for one white streak of hair in the front. one of his arms was robotic, gaulra tech she thought, and he wore mostly black and grey. he seemed friendly, but she couldn't be sure. she scooted back, hoping she could disappear into the wall behind her.

¨hey, its okay, i'm not here to hurt you. your safe. I just wanted to talk to you. " he assured her. she was still on edge, but relaxed.
"How long have you been on that ship?" He questioned.

"Years. I'm not sure. I've been stuck in that place for to long." I croaked, my voice scratchy from years of silence.

"Your gaulra?" He asked.

"I don't know." I whispered, "i'm not sure anymore. I lived a normal life at home, with my mom, until they took me, And I have no idea why."

He he gave me a sympathetic glance. "whats your name?"

"Lyra."
