a person that Lyra did not know opened the doors, and he wasn't gaulra. he wore a white suit of armor with blue markings and carried a sniper gun highlighted in red.

"come on!" he said, motioning for her to get up. she was scared but I followed his directions. he waited for her to walk up to him and then turned around and ran up the hallway. She followed. century's littered the floor. She ran past them, only seeing bits and pieces of their broken bodies. he turned a corner and ran toward a door. the door opened and two others had weapons and were ready to destroy, until they realized that the guy was one of there own. the inside seemed to be a docking bay, but it was covered in broken century's and guards. and three huge lions stood erect in the center of the chaos.

she had heard of the lions through the bars of her little window but never seen it in person!

for a second she thought ,would I really escape? could I go back to earth and see my family, live a normal life?

then she realized the answer was no. she was different now, and she would not belong. she was no longer human, or entirely human. she once again looked up at the ceiling avoiding her body, on the verge of tears.

One of the paladins was waving for her to follow them. so she did. she walked into the mess, avoiding the unconscious guards. one  of the paladins, the red one she thought, waved her into their lions. she walked into the mouth of the beautiful beast.

the way to wherever they were going was silent. she  sat on the floor of the cock-pit and waited patiently for It to be over. the gaulra had broken her into submission long ago, but as she saw the thought of freedom lurking in the depths of her mind, she could not remember what she had been like before the chaos and destruction of her soul.

with a small jolt the lion landed in the brightly lit bay. The guy turned his head around and smiled at lyra.
"We're here!" The announced enthusiastically. She smiled weakly and got up. He lead her out of the lion, and into the beautiful ship he called a castle. They walked out of the huge room they called a docking bay and into a hallway.
He brought her into a room, bathed in white, a stark contrast to the dark metal that covered the hallways and rooms of the ships she had been on for the last four years.
Inside a bed sat in a nook in a wall and a door leading to what she thought might be a bathroom was in a corner.
He smiled again and shut the doors.

She immediately went to the door. When she opened it, sure enough their was a bath, toilet (or what she thought was one), and a sink occupied the room. she started the water and peeled of the dirty cloths. When the tub was full, she stepped in, lay down, and let herself relax, daydreaming of freedom and what it would hold.
