"i can't believe we're still trending! season threes been out for 2 weeks!" millie says, as we grab lunch from one of the shops on a wednesday we have off school, millie joins us because she's homeschooled. lucky thing.
"i know! i had so much fun" i sigh, "but i hope you still want to hang when it dies down"
they both laugh. sadie and millie
"you silly, we'll always hang out river, filming and finishing a tv show doesn't mean that our friendship will finish too.
i laugh with them, "i know"
"no way!! those are the girls from stranger things!!" by now im pretty much known to be part of the cast, i was one of the hints.
it still feels so unreal when people ask me for a picture and an autograph. i have to get used to it, i try to take notes from mills and sads because they're naturals when it come to paparazzi.
"oh my gosh. do you know what came in the mail today?" millie says excitedly.
"my kim k things that she sent. i still cant believe it"
millie, sadie and i have made the list for the anything kim anyone send out. it's kind of crazy when kim kardashian knows who you are.
we walk together, getting ice creams (but no ice cream or water fights today) and sitting on the wall, the sun shining happily over us.
we hang around for a couple more hours whilst we wait for harper to finish school.
we create a crowd though, excited girls trying to take pictures frantically.
harper comes bounding out, smiling proudly at us, her red hair bounces and shines in the sun. my hair has grown to past my shoulders now, similar length to millies, whose grows so fast. hers flows past her shoulder blades now, her glossy locks shimmer in the light.
she links arm with us as we walk on.
it's all smiles and laughs until i see someone who makes my heart skip a beat.
he's laughing to, arm in arm with a blonde girl, not lola. but he's looking at her, admiring her pretty looks.
i instantly get a surge of jealousy throughout my body, even if finn and i aren't together. i feel it all the time.
the girls seem to notice and they steer me in a different direction, trying to talk to me to distract me from finn.
"i know her" i hear harper whisper to millie,
"she's been here a couple weeks, she's called daisy snow"
millie pulls a face at her, "well I don't like her"
i laugh at her and speak up, "come one let's go and meet jack and jaeden"
jaeden and i have become close recently, he's my friend. ive met sophia too, she's amazing, she's so funny.
to be honest, everything's run pretty smoothly, i still think about the night, a lot. i miss him.
"river?" harper snaps me out of my daydream
"you okay?"
i nod, smiling. i seem to be zoning out quite a lot recently.
"guys, guess who's in town!!" millie squeals, looking at her phone.
"who?" we all ask in unison.
"adele!!!!" She mini screams, (a scream that's quiet, but still loud enough to draw attention) and we all laugh.
"can we all go?"
"yeah sure!"
so there we have it, we're all going to a concert together.
"wait, I want sophia to come too, do you think she'll make it?"
"yeah sure i can millimeter" we all turn around quickly, to spot a smiley sophia.
we all engulf her in a hug and she grins at us.
"so it's a thing now right?" millie says rambling, "yeah so ill get my dad to book tickets, and we can meet her and we can sing together and you can all stay at mine and then you can-"
"millie breathe" we all say together and then we all giggle. it's going to be so much fun.
i get home around 5 and we decide to build a fort downstairs. we're 14, that's totally acceptable.
as im folding the sheets to carry downstairs, something spring to my mind.
"harper? do you think daisy or whatever her name is, do you think he's trying to make me jealous?" i ask her carefully.
"uh, honestly? i don't know" she says sighing.
"if he is, he's the worst human in the world, why do you even still think about him?" She says, almost sadly.
"you're right, now let's watch a film"
harper falls asleep, and i get a message from the group chat.

i lock my phone and glance at the time. 1:02am, although it's been so long, i can't help but get a pang of sadness, this was our time but i guess times changed. sometimes i wish things didn't happen the way they did.
my mind flashes to the blonde girl he was laughing with. i get a burning feeling my chest and i shake the image out of my head. i turn over and try to go to sleep.
