"Great. Another nightmare." Dan mumbles as he checks the time. 2 AM. Wonderful. He looks around his dark room for just a moment before it scares him and he has to turn on his phone light. He looks at each corner of his room for any evil creatures lurking. He can't stop himself from picturing the horrible things that could be there. He jumps as he sees Pennywise pop up at his bedside. He quickly checks by his bed and under it so his thoughts don't convince him that something is actually there.
He knows there isn't anything, but he still feels afraid. Just like every night. Every single night for the past year where he woke up from a nightmare and had to lay in his bed with his phone light on until his body forced him back to sleep.
He tries to close his eyes and fall back asleep. But as soon as his eyes close he pictures a dark figure standing over his body and his eyes shoot open. It was going to be a long night. Again.
