Sulu walked Demora down the hallway. It was time for her to go home. Sulu was going to miss his little princess. She was his entire life.

Demora squeezed Sulu's hand as she skipped beside him. She was so cute. Her little backpack bounced on her back. She was so adorable.

All too soon, Sulu and Demora arrived at the transportation room. Sulu scooped up Demora and gave her a tight hug. Demora pulled back but remained in Sulu's arms.

"Is Miss Uhura going to say goodbye to me?" Demora asked in the most innocent voice.

Sulu looked at Demora sadly. "No, I'm sorry, honey. Miss Uhura couldn't make it today, but I'm sure she'll send you her goodbye. She'll miss you greatly."

Demora pouted. "I like Uhura. She's nice."

"Yes, she is."

And with that, Sulu sent Demora on her way. Before Demora was transported away, she waved at Sulu, smiling away. Sulu smiled back rather sadly. He didn't know when he'd see his little girl again.

Sulu left when Demora disappeared. He went to the nearest turbo lift. He had to go to work, but all he wanted was to get his little girl.

Sulu returned to his post. He worked for the remainder of his shift before leaving to join Uhura for dinner in her quarters.

When Sulu got there, Uhura was setting the table. She smiled at him and hugged him tightly. Sulu returned the hug, burying his head in Uhura's shoulder. It felt nice to hug Uhura.

They sat down and started. Uhura had made grilled cheese sandwiches, which was Sulu's favorite. When Sulu took the first bite, he realized it had all of his favorite spices and sauces in it. Uhura was such a good cook.

Sulu sat back in his chair. He was full after eating and felt a bit tired. Sulu looked over at Uhura. She was leaning back in her chair as well. She flashed a smile at him.

"What do you want to do?" Uhura asked.

"I don't know." Sulu stretched. "Watch a movie?"

Uhura shrugged. "Maybe. What movie?"

"Jumanji?" Sulu asked.

"How about the second one? I haven't seen it."

Uhura agreed and they sat on the couch. Uhura cuddled up to Sulu and rested her head against Sulu's shoulder. They began watching the movie. It was actually really fun. It was nonstop laughter for the entire movie.

Near the end, Uhura was cuddled up against Sulu, who had his arm wrapped around her shoulders. When the credits started rolling and Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses started playing, Uhura looked up at Sulu. He was starting to look really attractive to Uhura. Something about him seemed to turn Uhura on a bit. Maybe it was his cologne or his muscles. But something had changed. It could've been that Uhura missed having someone to cuddle with and kiss.

Sulu looked at Uhura and gave her a half-smirk. "What? Do I have something on my face?"

"No," Uhura said quickly. "You just look different."

"Different good or different bad?" Sulu asked.

Uhura smiled a little at him. "Different good. I like it."

Sulu snorted softly. "Thanks. You're different too."

Uhura snuggled closer to Sulu. Uhura muttered, "Can we be better friends?"

"Yes, of course," Sulu murmered.

"Good," Uhura whispered.

Sulu looked at Uhura. She was so beautiful tonight. Nothing had changed about her, but it was different.
