"Miss Kim Jisoo, as the top student of this class, can you recall the Newton's Three Laws of Motion?" Their physics teacher said.Jisoo stood up and suddenly she can't remember those laws.
"The 3 laws of motions are, Law of Inertia.. uh.. shit, what's happening." Jisoo whispered the last three sentences.
"Uhm, Miss Kim. You okay?" Her teacher asked.
"Yes, sir. Sorry but I don't know the 3 laws of motion." Jisoo sat down.
Everyone in class, including their teacher, grasped at what Jisoo said. They all knew that the girl is so smart that she even perfect her scores.
"You seem to be out of your mind." Her teacher said. He then started their lecture and Jennie kept on looking at Jisoo with worried eyes.
"Let's talk at the rooftop during our break." Jennie whispered at Jisoo, the latter just nodded.
Jisoo just spacing out the whole time, maybe she should consult about her condition or may be tell her father about it.
It's break already, Jisoo made her way to the cafeteria. When she's already halfway going there, someone grabbed her wrist.
"We're going to the rooftop, remember?" Jennie smiled.
"Oh, yes, at the rooftop. I'm sorry." Jisoo said shaking her head.
"Come on." Jennie said and she intertwined her hand with Jisoo's.
When they arrived there, they both sat down. Jennie handed her girlfriend a banana milk and choco pie.
"Are you really okay, babe? I think you should go to a doctor." Jennie said worriedly.
"I will. I'm going to tell this to my dad first." Jisoo said. She planned to talk to her father this weekend.
"If what I'm thinking is right, please, no. I'm too young." Jisoo silently prayed.
"Okay." Jennie said and stole a kiss from Jisoo.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
-
Weekend came like a flash, Jennie is now at Jisoo's apartment. She's playing on her phone while waiting for her girlfriend to come out from her room.
Jennie's too engrossed playing and is determined to beat her own high score when suddenly Jisoo nudged her phone.
"What the fuck?! I was about to beat my score." She said looking annoyed.
"Watch your words." Jisoo glared.
"But-" Jisoo just kissed her on the lips making the latter to shut up.
"Dad's already waiting for us in the cemetery." Jisoo said.
Jennie got up from the couch and made her way outside, she opened the passenger seat door for Jisoo and turned around to get inside the driver's seat. She started offf the engine and drove to their said destination.
They arrived at the place, they walked hand in hand on their way to where her mom's grave is. There they saw a man standing there with a bouquet on his hand.
"Oh gosh, I forgot to bring flowers." Jisoo said.
"I'll rush to the flower shop." Jennie said.
"No, no. We're here already. Don't mind it." Jisoo smiled.
"Hey, dad." Jisoo let go of Jennie's hand to hug her father. Her dad hugged her back. Obviously, missing her daughter.
"Hi, mom." Jisoo stared at the grave, smiling sadly.
"Dad and Mom, this is Jennie. My girlfriend." She said as she hold Jennie's hand.
"Hello, Mr and Mrs Kim." Jennie said and a strong wind passed by.
"Woah, it looks like your mom made her presence felt." Jisoo's dad chuckled.
"Nice to meet you, Jennie Kim. Don't be so formal, call me uncle." Her dad said.
"Okay, uncle." Jennie smiled.
"I already talked to your mom earlier, it's your turn, honey." Jisoo's dad said.
Jisoo knelt down, rubbing her mom's gravestone.
"How are you, mom? It's been years since you left. I'm still here longing for mother's love. I miss you so much. I hate you for leaving us early. Please, always guide me and dad. We love you so much, mom. I hope I'll see you, soon. But not now, okay?" She stood up wiping her tears that fell off from her eyes. Jennie quickly hugged her and rubbed her back.
"Sorry to interrupt you ladies but let's go." Her dad said making the two pull away from the hug.
Her dad went to his car and two went to Jennie's. They just followed her dad's car. They stopped when they reached a fine dining restaurant.
"You up for steak, guys?" Mr. Kim asked.
"Yes, uncle/dad." They both said in unison.
The waiter went to their table and took their orders.
"Where did you to meet?" Jisoo's dad asked.
"We're classmates, uncle. Then we eventually became friends and I started to develop some romantic feelings to your daughter." Jennie said.
"And we just turned official like less than a month ago." Jisoo continued.
They stopped their conversation when their food arrived.
-
"Thanks for today, Jennie. Take care driving your way home." Mister Kim said.
"Thank you, too, uncle." Jennie bowed.
"Good night, babe. Take care, okay?" Jisoo hugged her.
"Good night, too. Please, rest." Jennie said and went to her car. She waved before she stepped on the gas.
Jisoo stayed at their house tonight because she's going to talk to her father.
"Hey, dad." Jisoo said as she went to the dining area where her dad is. He's sitting there with a cup of coffee. She went to the ref and grabbed a milk.
"I have something to tell." She said and sat down.
"What is it, Jisoo?" Her dad asked.
"These days, I keep on forgoting things. It feels like I'm suffering from memory loss." Jisoo said.
Her dad was startled, he almost dropped his cup.
"Did she inherit her mom's disease? No, it can't be."
"I-I'll c-call our doctor tomorrow." Her dad said.
-
After two days, the results of Jisoo's assessment and tests from her neurologis are out. She and her father went to the hospital to see the results.
She's feeling nervous and cold sweats were coming from her skin.
"Good morning, Jisoo and Mr. Kim." The doctor greeted.
"Good morning, doc."
"With all the tests, assessments and the symptoms that Jisoo was experiencing, we found out that she really inherited her mom's disease. We're sorry to inform you that Kim Jisoo is diagnosed from Alzheimer's disease."
"It's rare because usually the patients who have this kind of disease are aged from 60 years old and above."
Jisoo has her eyes wide open. She didn't know what to react.
A freaking' alzheimer's.
