Hunter:
A knock woke me up. Chasity was still fast asleep. I got out of bed and tucked her back in and then went to answer the door.
"Good morning, Dad."
"Can we talk? Sally went out grocery shopping. Come on into the study."
I followed him down the hall and into a small room that only contained his desk, everything was boxed up and down in the dining room. I sat in the only chair in front of the desk as dad sat behind it. He coughed, clearing his throat. I decided it was now best to just come clean with my father.
"I didn't tell you because I thought I could fight it, dad," I said before he even opened his mouth. He held up his hand to stop me. I listened.
"Now, why would you try to disregard such a blessing? I'm so happy you found your mate. You shouldn't have denied her for my sake."
"But I know how happy you are with Sally. Chasity seemed to feel the same way, she tried to fight it too."
"Did you claim her, yet?"
"Yeah, last night." I looked down at my lap. He laughed.
"Well, that explains her attitude towards Maria now. I still plan on marrying Sally. It doesn't change a thing between us. You two are adults and Sally already told me what she thought about you two getting together. She said love is funny that way. It comes from the place you least expect it and she is right. I hope you two have a happy life together." We stood and hugged each other.
I cleaned and bandaged her bite, knowing full well it would become a permanent marking on her skin. I decided to let her sleep and went to talk to Grayson.
~~~~~~
"You want to do what?"
"You told me once that it hardly ever happened, but if it did, we always had the option of turning her," I reminded him.
"That's only if she wants to be turned. I'm not comfortable with turning someone against their will."
I knew then that my only option was talk to Chasity about it. I was hoping that she cared for me enough to turn. Humans rarely, if ever, became mated to a werewolf. The reason being that birthing a were-pup was a very difficult process and fatal to a human. Our wolves don't mature fully until we reach puberty, but born wolves don't have much control on when they turn and are sometimes born in wolf form.
I shuddered at the thought of losing Chasity, just to have my blood passed onto my children. If she refused, we could always just not have children. I shook my head. I knew that I wanted at least one little pup that had Chasisty's eyes and my strength. I sighed and headed home to my mate.
~~~~~~~
I arrived at home just as Chasity was stretching as she descended the stairs.
She shouldn't be awake already, I thought. I walked to her and she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me deeply.
"Oh geez, get a room!" Sally said.
"Mom! I'm sorry, I--" Chaz began. Her mother held up her hand to stop her.
"It's fine. Greg told me all about it. It's absolutely fine. You two are grown and can do what you want with who you want. But I swear to you, mister," Sally looked at me, "if you hurt my baby girl I will tear you limb from limb." I nodded, silently. She smiled. "Carry on then. Upstairs." She continued to the kitchen and Chasity followed.
It was kind of funny. Sally almost sounded like a wolf-mom when she took on a threatening tone, like that. I shook my head at the silly thought and I went upstairs to shower.
