I was standing in the mirror looking at myself. I was fully dressed for me and Clarence's date tonight. I flattened my dress and fingered my now straightened hair before leaving out of the bedroom. Clarence was waiting for me in the living room area. I walked out and he stood up from the couch.
The tension between the two of us was crazy. We were both nervous as this was our very first date. I could tell Clarence was just as nervous as me because he was being fidgety.
"You look good..." he eyed me.
"Just good?" I laughed and walked up to him and he grabbed my hands placing a kiss on one of my knuckles.
"You look beautiful ma." he twirled me around. "You ready to go? We can't be out too long." I nodded remembering that he had to leave around 11. It was only around 7:30. I grabbed my things and we were on our way out the door. While we walked out I felt Clarence's eyes on my backside. On our way down to the elevator Clarence wrapped his arms around my waist and we walked together. "You look so good, Kali." he whispered in my ear.
"Thank you, you don't have to keep telling me." I smiled.
"Imma keep telling you, because it's true, and I want you to know."
I sucked my teeth, "You're such a cornball." I said as we made our way into the elevator.
We got into the parking lot of the hotel and we stopped at a all white Mercedes Benz.
"This how we doing it now?" I looked at the car.
"Just a lil' sum for the trip." he smiled.
Clarence came over and opened the passenger side door for me and helped me inside the car. I got comfortable and thanked him while putting on my seatbelt.
He jogged over to the driver's side and got inside, starting the new car.
The drive to the restaurant wasn't how I thought it'd be. I thought that I was going to act all awkward and shy just because I had mad feelings for this dude. We joked as if we were not even going on a date and it was just a usual outing we had. But I guess that was just me overthinking again.
We pulled up the restaurant. I instantly knew what this restaurant was, Providence. Octavia told me about it. I told her that I wanted to try some seafood places down here and she referred this place to me. I looked it over because I never knew Clarence was into sushi and seafood all that much.
"I thought you didn't like seafood?" I looked over at him as he pulled into a parking spot.
"Not that much, but they have some other stuff I want to try." I nodded.
Me and Clarence had a conversation late at night when we were both half asleep about our favorite foods. I guess he remebered when I told him I LOVED seafood.
We parked and Clarence came around and opened the door for me. I thanked him and we walked hand in hand inside the restaurant.
"Reservation for White." Clarence told the woman.
"Ah.. right on time Mr. White. Right this way." she grabbed the menus and escorted us to our table.
"Reservations, you fancy." I looked at Clarence. He laughed and we took our seats in the curved booth.
I looked around the restaurant in awe. The decorations were beautiful along with the seating arrangements. I grabbed my menu and began to scan it trying to figure out what I wanted.
Me and Clarence sat in a comfortable silence for a couple minutes. I felt his eyes on me the whole time I looked at my menu.
"What you looking at?" I smirked.
