Clay's POV
I watched as Jestro came down and opened the cell, then grabbed us all and dragged us upstairs. I held my tongue as he muttered cusses and swears about us and our 'useless purities'. Just then, we saw light, and emerged in the Joustdome. Monstrox cackled from above and grabbed Macy, then pulled out a gun.
"Ladies and gentleman, witness the execution of one of the NEXO Knights!" He shouted, cackling as everyone cheered. That was it, I snapped.
"No!" I shouted, struggling against my bonds. "No, no, no!" Monstrox cackled evilly.
"So the bluebird has a crush on Ms. Royal here, huh?" He taunted. "That would make it even more fun to let you watch her die!" I knew there was no other option, so I shouted something nobody would've wanted;
"KILL ME INSTEAD!!!"
Everyone turned to me, shocked. I sighed and look Monstrox straight in the eyes.
"Kill me instead, not her. Anything but her." I said. "Just leave my friends alone, please." Monstrox shrugged, then switched me out for Macy and aimed the gun at me. I closed my eyes, hearing the shot.
And then, everything went black.
