(( A.N. Just thought I'd note that this story takes place in Ireland! I'm of Irish decent but I don't do Irish slang or language, sorry. Enjoy!

It was my first day back in this town, in this school system, to being exposed to this kind of living, and I was far from being anything close to prepared.

After moving to America with my family because of my father's job at the ending of grade school and right before the beginning of middle school, we had moved back to my hometown Mullingar and I was going to be attending the high school in that town as a second-year, or a Sophomore.

I shuffled down the bustling corridor and tried to concentrate on the one thing I had been telling myself since the day I heard I was moving to America, the day I heard I was moving back here, and all summer long:

"You don't have to care what anyone thinks, no one's going to break you."

As I repeated those words, I forced a smile, tried to keep my head held high, and continued to think positive thoughts. I glanced down at my schedule that I had scrawled out on a old McDonald's receipt as an only available resort and it read in my neat handwriting:

"Science

English

Geography

Humanities

Algebra 2

Choir

P.E."

Okay, science is first hour, but where is the science room? Oh god. This could be an issue. I looked around the hallways at swarms of people in desperation and despair in hopes of a hero, when I spotted someone who looked fairly familiar. It was Bella, my old friend in 5th grade before I moved!

Maybe she's just as lost as me, but hey, at least if I confront her with my problem I might have someone to share my discomfort with.

"Hey, Bella!" I called out with a warm smile as I moved over towards her, but a look of slight confusion played across her face.

"Oh, hey. Who are you?"

"Elliot Pierce. Elli? Don't you remember?"

"Nah," she laughed, "but I like your outfit. You must be new. Finding your way around?"

"Oh...well, thank you! And actually, I was hoping you knew where things were, because I am completely and utterly lost."

She chuckled a bit, scooting over to make room for a student passing by our way as she opened her mouth for an explanation.

"Don't worry. I know this place from top to bottom, inside and out. I hate it with a passion. What's your first hour?"

"Science. Yours?"

She stopped for a minute and a bright smile formed right then and there as she pointed to a room right around the corner.

"Mine's Science, too! I can show you around and we can both head there together."

We both compared schedules and luckily we had several classes together, but as we headed to the classroom and through the door I was already receiving strange glances. As I debated on where to sit, the students of the classroom scanned me up and down. There were two empty seats. There was one behind Hanna Jylis, but Bella said she was 'popular and rude' and I remembered she used to try to fake and be my friend back before I left, but I didn't like her and her clique's opinions so needless to say, she hates me. Sit by her?

How about no.

The only other available seat was two seats in front of Bella and right behind a boy with blonde hair who was turned to the side in his desk, back turned away from me, talking to some guy who looked like a jock. As I walked down the aisle between the row of desks towards the empty one that I was about to claim as mine, he looked up at me, and there was no way on Earth I could mistake those blue eyes, that crooked smile, or those dark brown roots for anyone else but him. I sat down in my seat and he turned around to face me.

"Who are you?" He asked gently.
