I watch him before finally speaking up, "In short, Luno can see important aspects of my future before I even know. Chances are he knows what the outcome will be and has an excuse planned to let me stay. Honestly, don't know how he does it, but I trust him wholeheartedly."

My brother nods in response resulting in Lance giving me a comforting smile. Even though I hadn't known him for long, his heartbeat and scent were calming. To me, Lance's scent is like a drug. It's both comforting and intoxicating because he's my mate. According to Audrey, a mate doesn't have to be romantically connected, and I'm happy about that. I don't think I could handle a relationship with him, considering his crush on Miss Allura.

With Lance, I felt safe, and that's something I haven't felt in a while. Part of me knows my father and brother are hiding something from me. It's an eerie gut feeling, and I can't shake it.

Every once in a while, I feel my father isn't who he says he is. During the operation to rescue him from galra control, it confirmed my suspicion. Sometimes when I'm around Audrey, I can feel my mother, who's been dead for quite some time now.

"Well," Allura says reluctantly, "if that's what you want, I won't force you to go back, Zona."

I squeal and run toward her, wrapping my arms around her, "Thank you, Miss Allura!"

Allura tenses up and reluctantly accepts my embrace. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see the space mice trying to steal some leftover space goo in the corner.

Are those little cuties seriously stealing food goo? "What's food goo," Zoey asks— Space Food.

As I adjusted to life in the Castle of Lions, Zoey and I felt comfortable and more confident. It was like the weight of being royalty fell off our shoulders. While at the castle, I felt like I could do whatever I wanted without judgment.

Slowly, Zoey began to front more and learn to shapeshift. So far, she can take the form of a mouse and a galra soldier. Honestly, I'm proud of her.

Almost every afternoon, we practice shapeshifting in the training room. Pidge had modified it with a broad assortment of creatures to help us. I don't know what I'd do with her if she hadn't. Zoey's already made so much progress.

"I did it!!" Zoey squeals and shifts back into our normal from, "I shifted!!"

"You did," I exclaim, forcing Zoey to do a little happy dance. We're one step closer to becoming a master shifter like Dex!

Before Zoey could respond, clapping could be heard. I glance in the direction of it, noticing Coran and Hunk. Hunk was holding a plate of steamed buns while Coran was twirling his mustache with his finger.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Coran apologizes, "didn't mean to scare you."

My cheeks flush a bit as I approach them. Zoey allows me to front again, so I shake my head and mumble, "How long have you guys been standing there?"

"Not that long," Hunk smiles and offers me the plate, "I heard you struggling and thought you could use a break. Coran just followed me."

I grab a bun and blink, responding, "You saw that, didn't you?"

Hunk nods and smiles, "The cute little dance? I did. You look adorable as a Galra soldier. I know we're supposed to be afraid of them, but you're just so tiny, and your Galra form is adorable."

I'm not adorable! Zoey laughs and snorts, "If Hunk says you are, then you are."

Aside from Pidge, I'm the smallest in the group. It comes in handy, but Lance likes to poke fun at it. Sometimes it gets to me, but other times it doesn't. I have Hunk to thank for that. He's sweet and caring and makes delicious food. His cooking reminds me of home.
