"S-so do I have a time limit on mastering shapeshifting?" I ask as I wander the halls of the ship. Surprisingly, it was big and spacious.
"Yes and no," Zona sighs, "mastering shapeshifting takes half a lifetime to master. Most Narcrians barely know how to shapeshift. You at least need to have a basic understanding of it before we get back to Narcria... That's if the Galra hasn't taken it over."
I raise an eyebrow and sit up, confused, "Galra?"
"Oh right... I forgot you don't know," Zona says and forces me to tap on the bracelet, revealing a screen with creepy purple creatures on it, "this is the Galra. They're a vicious and ruthless race who have spent the past 10,000 years concurring the universe. Their leader is Emperor Zarkon and he's not someone you want to mess with. I just hope he hasn't found us or Narcria yet..."
I stop dead in my tracks and glance out into the abyss of stars, planets, and galaxies. I bite my lip and stay quiet for a while. "W-what do you mean by finding us?"
"Umm... let's just say our life force alone contains something that Zarkon wants," Zona mumbles, "because we're a hybrid, we hold an outstanding amount of quintessence which is the highest known energy unit in the universe."

POV: Zona
Not that long ago, I started figuring out the existence of Zoey and now, it feels like nothing happened. After we returned to Narcria, I ended up teaching Zoey the basics of shapeshifting. She's come a long way within a year and for that I am proud. These days, she can successfully hone in on heart rhythms. As for shapeshifting, she still needs work, but she's coming along.
"Zona, where are you?" A voice shouts from below. I glance down to find Dex, my bodyguard, and second father. "It's time for the meeting."
I groan and jump out of the tree, "Dex, can't I skip it?"
He turns around and gently grabs my wrist, pulling me away from the forest. "No, as part of your training, you must attend meetings your father finds important."
I frown and follow him against my will. I guess that's my life as heiress to the throne. I mean it's not bad, but I'd love to go out and explore the universe.
"Ew... can't we just chill in trees all day?" Zoey asks, "I mean this meeting sounds boring." Would you shut up? Now I know why you called me a parasite. I'm kind of glad nobody but me can hear you.
Dex leads me back into the castle and toward the throne room. Even though I grew up here, it still amazes me how big it is. I'm pretty sure you can fit an entire village in it. After a lot of walking, we finally stop at a set of doors with pink and gold accents. Dex opens one of the doors and waits for me to enter before he does.
"Princess," a voice says and bows, "welcome. Please take a seat."
I bow and respond, "thank you for allowing me to attend this evening."
"With pleasure," another voice chimes in. I glance in the direction of it and bow before taking my seat.
After a few long minutes, the meeting begins and so does my strong urge to run out of there and hide in the forest. To be honest, I find this whole training to be queen thing a waste of time because ninety percent of it is stuff I learned as a child. This meeting was for the most part, boring. It was all about the usual update on the village and projects going on within it. It ended with my father excusing me so he could discuss God knows what.
I yawn and wander the halls with Dex close behind. I glance back at him and smile. "Dex, I'm just going to my room, don't worry."
"Hmmm I don't trust that," he sighs, "the forest is dangerous after dark."
