My Shocked Mate

Chapter 3

Rhys's POV

Today marks four months since I found my mate or should I say finally met him. I deep down can feel his pain even though we are not mated and technically he rejected me as his mate which I still refused to accept. I will never forget his face when he said those words it was almost like he was fighting with not his panther but with himself.

His family have tried to talk to me but I refuse to see them especially his brothers as they remind me to much of him. I suppose they are triplets which would explain them looking like each other.

My brother had even tried to get me to listen to them especially his mate. I decided to ignore them but today Flame (my dragon) talked me for the first time in a while and asked for me to listen them. So right now I am waiting for them to come and talk.

After they arrived and we got drinks and sat down in the seating area of our pack house. Both Diego and his dad Antonio started talking about when they were captured. They mentioned that one of the hunters had cornered Darius and was whispering something to him which made Darius upset and his eyes go black like he was fighting with himself.

Antonio said he couldn't hear a lot of the conversation due to him trying to help Logan but what he did hear made him think they met before and that the hunter was reminding him of his threat. Antonio also said though he couldn't hear all what they were saying the words, mate and brother were mentioned and also that Darius was a  pawn.

They describe the man as best as they could to me at that point I realised who he was.

I mindlinked my cousins and asked Dante to call Sage and the council as we needed a plan especially as we knew that the hunter was not found when they were previously rescued.

About an hour later we had moved into a meeting room so I could explain what was going on. Before the meeting started I needed to get a file from the office with all information I had gathered over the years.

As everyone arrived and took a seat I got up and walked to the front of the room. Before starting to talk I cleared my throat and took a deep breath and started from the beginning.

"As you all know I am a powerful dragon but the truth is there is more to my story. Each shifter has a leader for example though it has not actually been recorded Sage is classed as the Alpha of all Alphas in the Wolf realm, Dante technically is head of the Panthers and feline Shifters. I believe Bren is also the leader of all bear shifters. We also have leaders for witch/warlock covens, which I believe at the moment the head warlock is missing which I believe is to do with the hunter but I will get to that later on. As you know Councilmen Duke Danton is the Lord of Vampires. Majority of the kingdoms have recently moved here to join Moon Valley so that we can work together. As for why I am telling you this is because 50 years ago my family was killed because I was due to become the next king of the dragons. The person responsible was a warlock hunter called Salvador Moriarty. He has been around for over 700 years he previously killed my grandparents that is one of the reasons we moved to Canada. He found us again after being in Canada for 50 years because we had a traitor in our Pride which I found out later was his mate and they were sent to spy on us. So I killed her but managed to save their child who now lives here under our protection as he is a full warlock and next in line to be the leader of all witches/warlock covens once his granddad is found and the title can be carried over. He knows the truth and is very loyal to me and has also been working with me for the last 20 years and I have taught him everything about the shifter law. Salvador does not know anything about him thinks he is dead so he is after me thinking I killed both his mate and un born child. I believe he has several compounds across the world holding shifters which he is selling on the shifter black market. I have actually got people working on it so they can find the locations of the compounds. I have managed to set up fake accounts so we can access when and where the auctions will be. There is two next week, one in Idaho and the other in Russia. I have already a team in place for extraction in Russia thanks to inside moles we have planted. As for Idaho I have several scouts keeping a look out of the compound and updating me on information.

You all probably wondering how I know all this, the truth is I am head of a Special team for Shifters. I work closely with the council and also the Shifter version of the FBI/CIA which I actually fund as I want to protect our kind for evil. I work closely to Drake (Lord of Vampires) who also help fund organisation. I do have some trusted humans on my team that are mated to shifters which also helps when dealing with human law. I have business partners which are unsavoury people and may not be legit but without them we would not be able to do what we do."

As I went through everything I could see the tension in some of the people eyes but at the same time I feel their adoration to what I do. As the meeting closed and I answered the questions and we put a plan of action in place for next week. I asked Dante, Diego and their dad to stay.

When everyone had left I turned to the and said " I know you are not telling me everything where Darius is but could you do me one favour tell him I know the truth and tell him to come home so we can talk."
