My Shocked Mate

Chapter 7

Darius's POV

We had been talking for a while now I could see everyone was getting tired and it was definitely time for us to eat.
Rhys's cousins and their mate Jeff had managed to make some food so we could all eat before everyone left. Rhys asked if I could move in with him as we had been separated long enough. I had explained that the two of us needed to spend time together first before I agreed to move in as it was still hard for to get my head round the fact I am not only mated to another male but also a dragon shifter who happened to be technically the king of dragons and also the brother of my dad's new mate.
I was also concerned that the hunter was still out there and until he was captured, it was not safe for any off us especially for Rhys and his family.
I also had to face my dad and Reuben as they were mates and now have their own family which I guess were my half siblings. I have to admit I did take it hard when I found out that my dad and mum were not actually true mates. I always looked up to them both hoping I would be as happy as them once I found my mate. The night they told us the truth I felt like my childhood and what I believed was based on lies. I only been back a day and realised there is a lot for me to do so I can make things right.
As for Rhys I feel like we could actually be happy together and even eventually have a family. I guess deep down I know he will be the dominant in our relationship which scares me. The thought of me being the bottom also frightens me; I hope we can take it in turns to be on top. The last few weeks I have felt different almost more emotional and sensitive. I spoke to Jameson about it and he said that he thinks my omega traits are starting to appear.
Though technically I have both Alpha and Beta blood I also have omega traits probably from my mom side which isn't surprising as I am at least 6 inches smaller than Dante and 4 inches smaller than Diego and a smaller build then them both.
I know that once Rhys and I mate there a high possibility that I probably carry our kit or hatchling which freaks me out but I know I will be OK.
I believe from the research I have done whilst I was away my pregnancy probably will be different as I am not a dragon but a Panther. We just have to wait and see I know that Rhys cousin's mate carried 3 very large babies normally then when they shifted they were actually dragons with wolf traits and the larger one actually could shift into both as he was a complete hybrid. It is rare but can happen when different shifters mate. Either way whatever happens I will be prepared.
I also have decided I won't be travelling anymore for work as I will be working remotely from home Jameson wants me to still help do work for his pack and their businesses which works out brilliant I also plan to talk to Max when I get chance as I know he does websites and marketing for business in our area. I know Rhys will want me to probably be joint Alpha with him which I would be happy to do but not worried if not dragons are more independent than most shifters.

Anyway after we had finished eating Rhys and I was left on our own.
We got to know each other more and decided we go on a couple of dates before we actually mated.
I did agree to stay the night but we only cuddle and kissed before falling asleep in each other arms.
