Magnus-
A booming noise woke me up. I lived in Valhalla, the land of the dead, so random noises were common. But no one usually visits at 3:00 in the morning. I gave the door "the finger", before lying back down. "MAGNUS!" Oh great, Mallory. She will never go away until she gets what she wants. I got up and opened the door. "What is it, Keen?" She glared at me. "Go get your girlfriend. She snuck coffee in and is running laps around the Feast Hall. She's annoying the goat, and if the goat is annoyed, the mead won't taste as good." She turned on her heel and left for bed. I muttered something along the lines of "not my girlfriend" and went toward the feast hall.
When I got there, I discovered Mallory had not been lying. She had, however, been under exaggerating how hyper Alex really was. At the moment, she was attempting to climb the Tree. She turned, and saw me. She jumped off, forgetting she was 20 feet in the air. She landed with a crack on her ankle. I cringed. That had to hurt. I ran over, and gently placed my hand on her ankle. Yep, like I suspected. Broken. The fall seemed to sober her, and she lay unfighting on the ground as I healed her ankle. She fell asleep a few minutes later. She looked pretty cute sleeping. I nudged her shoulder to try and wake her up, but she just slapped my hand away and fell back asleep. I groaned, and picked her up. She was small, and light, making her easy to pick up. She rested her head on my shoulder. I blushed. By the time I got to her room, I could tell there was no waking her up. I tried to open her door, but it was locked. There was no getting in until Alex was awake. I sighed, and went to my room. I set her down on the bed, and laid down next to her.
I woke up to pain. Why can I never wake up to something nice, like a smile, or pancakes? Even better, falafel? When I opened my eyes, Alex was slamming the door shut. I groaned. I forgot I brought them to my room when their door was locked. I decided that, whatever, I was awake. Might as well get ready for the fight today.
Alex-
I woke up in a room that looked like mine, but wasn't. There was an arm around me. I clenched up. I slowly sat up, and looked at who decided to kidnap me in the middle of the night. Magnus, of course. It wasn't bad enough that he was my first crush, then he had to be a total idiot. I did the only thing I could think of. Slapped him and stormed out. Once I got to my room, I face planted into my bed. Man, I hated him. With a screech, I flung a pot at the door. I got up to inspect the damage. Dangit, I liked that one. I blame Magnus. I heard a knock at the door. I growled and threw another shard at the door. I couldn't just stop anyone from coming in, I forgot to lock the door. So that's what he did. Magnus popped his head on with his hand on front of his face in case I decided to throw more pots. I glared at him. "What?" He cautiously removed his hand from in front of his face. I rolled my eyes at him. "I won't kill you. Yet." He nodded. "I just want to see if you were ok. You were pretty wild last night. You tried to climb the tree in the Feast Hall." I looked down at my hands, noticing the scratches for the first time. I prodded it, and winced. Magnus grabbed my hand gently. "Let me heal that." I glared at him and yanked it away. I didn't want him seeing inside my mind. He might see how much I like him. "Why do you care?" I know that was blunt, but I didn't care. "Because you can't fight properly at the fight today if your hands hurt." I nodded. I was relieved that he wasn't doing it to see in my mind, but it stung he only cared about the fight. I rolled my eyes and held my hands out to him. He ran his fingers over the scratches, sending a healing warmth into my palms. He smiled, then patted my shoulder. "So. Ready for the fight?" I nodded. He smiled again, then left. I sat staring at the wall for a few minutes. I decided that today was a He/him day. I was interrupted by Mallory. "Hey Fierro, can I borrow a spare garrote? I love my knives but my oaf of a boyfriend told me to 'branch out'." I nodded and grabbed one from next to the kiln. She grabbed my arm. "C'mon, we don't want to be late for the fight!" I rolled my eyes, but let her pull me along.
By the time we got there, the bloodbath has already started. With a screech, I leapt into the battle. After helping a guy get rid of his arms, I noticed a masked dude pulling Magnus out of the hall. He looked unconscious, and beaten pretty bad. I followed a couple yards behind. The guy pushed him into the Boston entrance, before disappearing after him. I waited a moment before following them. By the time I got there, they were gone. I looked around, and spotted them on the roof of a nearby building. I groaned; how the heck did they get up there so fast? I ran and jumped onto the roof. Yay to being dead! I grabbed the kidnapper and spun him to face me and his knees. I held my garrote tight to his throat. His wolf mask concealed his face. "Who are you? Why did you kidnap Magnus? Who are you working for?" He laughed like he was not about to be decapitated. He laughed like he wasn't about to lose his head. "Who cares? And you'll meet him later. Try to knock down all the pins when you do, though." He dodged beneath my wide stance and leaped off the building. When I looked down, he wasn't there. No body, no evidence. Magnus was still out cold. I had to get him back to Valhalla; I didn't want him dying here. I hoisted him up so his arm was around my shoulder, and brought him back to Valhalla.
Of course, everyone was dead and recovering. I tried to open his door so I could deposit him in his bed. It was locked. Figures. I grunted, and dragged him to my room. With a few minutes effort, I got him onto my bed. I needed coffee. Dragging him around can really tire a boy out.
Magnus-
I woke up to the smell of coffee. I grumbled and sat up. Holy crap, my head hurt. "Hey Maggie. You're finally awake! Want some coffee?" I nodded and accepted the cup he gave me. "How long was I out?" He snickered. "Let's just say we both missed dinner, Maggie dear." That means he sat around waiting for me to wake up. "Don't call me that." "What?" "Maggie. Don't call me 'Maggie' or 'Maggie dear'. It's weird." He shrugged. "Ok. So what do you want me to call you, Maggie?" Ok, this was pissing me off. Now he was doing it just to annoy me. "How about your boyfriend?" I don't know where it came from. Alex looked so startled, and his face was so red. "Uh, sorry I was-" "Sure thing, Maggie." I stared at them. He stared back at me. "What?" He smirked. "Sure thing, Maggie, boyfriend, whatever." He downed his coffee. "Now, if you would excuse me, I missed dinner for you and I'm very hungry." He stalked out and slammed the door. So, I guess that's how I got my boyfriend.Author's Note-
