(y/n)'s POV
A couple of days later, I walked in the caves and after a while I stumbled upon a bench in a hidden room. It looked like a nice place to stay and rest, so I sat down and listened to the sounds around me. I hummed songs to myself and unwound for a long time. The bench was really comfortable. After a while, I heard noises from outside. I scrambled to my feet and hid under the bench, taking my backpack with me. I was laid on my back, staring at the underside of the bench.
I heard footsteps coming toward the bench and an angry flop noise as someone laid on the bench. I tried to be as silent as possible, and I thought I was doing well but then I heard an angry voice growl "whoever you are, you better come out before I murder you."
I gasped and pushed my backpack out from under the bench. I slowly crawled out and stood up, eyes closed in fear. I stood like that for a few seconds, waiting for something to happen. Then suddenly, I felt a hand on the side of my face. My eyes shot open and I saw sans. I stepped back and his arm fell to his side. We were silent for a minute, just staring at one another. Then I put my backpack on and started to walk out of the room, but before I could, sans grabbed my arm. I spun around, fear in my eyes.
Sans cleared his throat awkwardly and I looked at him with a confused expression. He sighed and let go of my arm, walking over to the bench and sitting down with his arms crossed. 'What the hell is he doing?" I thought to myself. I was about to leave when some little voice in my brain told me to stay. I put my backpack down and slowly walked over to the bench. I sat on the other side of the bench and sans looked over at me confused. There were a few more minutes of silence before I relaxed my body from the tense position I was in. I put my hands at my sides and sighed happily, I looked at the skeleton next to me. He looked contented. His glowing red eye had disappeared; instead there were two white pinpricks where human's pupils would be.
Surprised, I jumped back a couple inches. Sans looked at me with a confused expression. I whispered "sans, what happened to your eyes? "
he sat up straighter and looked all around the room, seeming to realize something. He smiled. "Huh, didn't think I could do that anymore. It means I'm happy." He said quietly.
"awww, I make you happy?" I joked. Sans blushed and looked away.
"No! I mean, yeah. Wait. Is this a trick question?" he was really cute when he was flustered. I laughed and scooted closer to him. He put his hood up and grumbled to himself. I felt a wave of bravery wash over me and I leaned my head on his shoulder. He tensed up but soon relaxed again. He leaned into me, putting his arm around my shoulder. We sat like that for a long time and talked, enjoying each other's company.
Eventually, sans stood up. He looked down at his feet and shuffled around. I got up and stood next to him. He looked down at me and said "look shrimp, I think I love you."
I stood there in shock. Then I smiled the biggest smile I had ever given. "I-I love you too sans."
I stepped forward and slowly hugged him. I could feel his soul thrum with magic. I hugged him tighter. He was warm and I buried my head in the fluff on his hoodie. He hugged me back and basically engulfed me in his hoodie. I melted in his arms and he pressed his teeth against my lips in a skeleton kiss. It was surprisingly gentle and I never wanted to stop, but unfortunately people need air. I pulled away and giggled. Sans' cheeks were beet red. I held his hand and we walked out of the room side by side.
THE END.
