I jumped with a start and sat completely up right in my bed. I brought the thin blue sheet to my chest, thinking that the simple fabric could provide me with any kind of protection. My room was dark except for the streaming glow of the silver moon. I looked around to see if anything or anyone was in my room. But that was crazy! No one could make it into my room I lived on the fourth story and the fire escape outside my window might as well be useless for its rusty limbs hadn't been used in years and it's creaky rails symbol that it will give way at the slightest about of weight upon it. I figured it as just a gust of wind and closed my window once more. I got up to get a small drink of water. When I returned I saw the window was once more open but this time someone was standing on the window seal casting a murky shadow on my dusty floor. I drew in a sharp gasp and was just about to shriek when the figure jumped down in front of me putting a hand over my mouth. "Sh!" He hushed me. His hand smelt of nature and dirt with the slightest hint of mint. He finally shifted and turned to me as the moonlight shined across his face. He had hazel brown eyes like two delicate drops of milk chocolate and pale skin. He had red hair and thin childlike lips. "Please don't scream! I'm not here to hurt you." He informed me taking a step back. He took his hand off of my mouth. "Well you better start explaining why you're in my room unless you want to catch these hands!" I shouted as I moved closer to him bringing back my had to slap him. His eyes widened in realization and he threw up his own hands in defense. "Please don't! I-I need your help." I put my hand down in surprise. "My help?" I asked. The boy nodded. "Please come with me." He begged. But I took a step back. I looked at him with searching concerned eyes. "You want me to come with you? I don't even know who you are, why you're here, nor what you want from me!" I shouted, getting frustrated. The boy let out a childish snicker as he came closer to me. "Don't you see? I'm Peter Pan!"
