"Mom?" I said between tears. It all made sense now. The woman nodded with a huge smile. "Mom!" I cried as I hugged her tightly and let a few more tears flow out. "Wait but... aren't you.. dead?" I asked. She bit her lip and nodded hesitantly. "My soul was restless and since I am gone I was no longer able to supply this island with the magic it needs." Her voice came like the wind. Her mouth didn't move but I could still hear it. "So the island dying, that was you? It was dying with you?" She nodded. "The Ivy family has been the source of this island's magic for years." She pauses as if she was resting herself. "After my depart, and you not knowing anything about your magic, left the island to perish." She pushed a stray hair from my face and behind my ear. "But now you're here, my flower." I suddenly leaned away from her. "Wait... are you saying you want me to protect Neverland now?" She nodded. "What's wrong with that?" "Nothing! Nothing at all, it's just... well... last week I was a sad little orphan with no past or future, and now the ghost of my mother is now telling me I'm some kind of magical princess of Neverland. It's kinda a lot to take in all at once." My mother nodded sympathetically. "I understand. But if you want to save your home, reclaiming your throne and power this is the only way." "My home?" "Of course! You were born here, Elyse. You belong here. In my absence, you will be named queen as well." I took in a sharp breath. "Wow.. this is really... a lot..." "don't think you will be doing it alone! When the kingdom is brought back all my trusted advisors, ladies in waiting, and knights will be ready to help you!" "But you'll be gone.." I met her eyes with a sad look in mine. "Oh my dear child, I will always be with you." She hugged me. "Now, save the island. Unleash your magic, my flower!" I did so. I let all energy flow out of my fingers into the earth. I began to heal Neverland.
