I approach Mt. Ebott, a large mountain reaching upwards as if attempting to touch the sky. I look back at the village, which is miles away now. A mile from the base of Mt. Ebott, wheat fields start appearing.

I ran off to look for a child who had disappeared a week ago. His mother has been worried sick. I straighten my purple and blue sweater and start hiking up the mountain. "He's got to be here somewhere," I tell myself.

I hike up the path, thinking about the story of this mountain as I continue searching.

Long ago, the world was said to be inhabited by two species: humans and monsters. A war was fought between them; however, the humans emerged victorious. Powerful magicians sealed the monsters underground with a seal that could never be broken by the monsters. That was many years ago. I look up the mountain. People say never to climb this mountain. People have often disappeared when climbing it. There could be another disappearance if my hunch is correct.

I reach the peak as the sun starts to set, coloring the rest of the sky a vibrant orange and red. I walk around the peak. "Hello? Is anyone here?" I call out.

I hear rocks crumble and pebbles fall. I look towards the crumbling. In the center of the peak, a chasm opens up into the inside of the mountain. I approach the edge and look down. I see a white light. I watch the light brighten and fade in awe. "What is this place?" I ask myself.

I suddenly feel the ground shift below me. I quickly stand up, but my foot is caught on a vine. I gasp as I fly out over the chasm. I scream as I fall towards the light, then into darkness.

I wake up on a bed of flowers. I'm on my back, facing upwards. I see several pillars, reaching upwards as if trying to escape this place.

I sit up and get on my feet. I look around until I find a path leading towards a ancient door. I take a few steps, still feeling weak from the fall, but reach the door. I pick up a stick from the ground to make me feel safe.

The next room is filled with darkness, but a hole in the ceiling shines light onto a single spot, where a flower sits. I walk towards it and look upwards. The sun's up. How long was I out?

"Howdy!" I hear below me.

I jump back, frightened. The flower has a face! It's smiling at me. "Didn't mean to frighten you, human. I'm Flowey. Flowey the Flower."

I pant in fear, holding the stick in front of me. "You're new to the Underground, aren't cha? I guess little ol' me will have to explain."

I start to calm down. "Where am I? How do I get home?"

"You're in the Underground now, kid. Welcome to the realm of monsters. And as to how you'll get home, you'll find out soon."

I take a deep breath. "Go on."

Flowey smiles. "First off, as you explore the Underground, monsters may want to fight you. In fights, you have to fight and defend using your soul."
