"Hemingway has more depth than Dickens!" Severus exclaimed as the debate of muggle authors raged on.

Helena shrugged, "I disagree."

Severus's jaw dropped, "Excuse me?"

Helena rolled her eyes, "Must come as a surprise to you, someone is finally disagreeing with the great Severus Snape."

"Watch it woman," Severus drawled playfully and shot her a mocking glare.

Helena laughed and tossed a pillow at him and squealed when he sent it flying back with a quick flick of his wand.

Severus watched her smiling, he loved when she got passionate about what she loved, her eyes would shimmer and she would give a shy smile.

Severus beckoned for Helena to come and sit on his lap. She hoped off the couch and walked to the armchair where he sat, Severus pulled her onto his lap and into his chest.

"I'm only teasing you Lena, I just wanted to see you get all passionate so that I could see your adorable, shy smile," Severus said as he brushed his lips against her temple.

Helena smiled and blushed furiously, Severus had that effect on her.

Severus seemed to be doing better than yesterday, but the pair were still only doing very relaxed activities such as reading.

"I'm scared Lena," Severus said suddenly causing Helena to pull back from his chest quickly to look into his eyes.

"Severus?" She asked him confused.

Severus sighed, "What if the potion doesn't work?"

Helena stroked the wizard's cheek and pressed her forehead to his, "It's going to work Sev, it has to."

Severus nodded, "Of course."

Seeming satisfied, Severus patted Helena to stand up, "I'm going to make tea, would you like some?"

Helena shook her head, "No thank you my love. Would you like some help?"

Severus shook his head, "I can manage."

With that, Severus moved towards the kitchenette leaving Helena to resume her reading. Helena flopped onto the couch and opened her book and started to read.

Minutes ticked by before Helena heard the shattering of china and a thud come from the kitchenette.

"Severus, is everything alright in there?" She called out, and when she received no answer she rushed to Severus.

Severus lay motionless on the floor, a broken tea cup near by.

"Severus!" Helena gasped and rushed to his side. She felt for a pulse and found that he had one, she pulled him into her lap and gently shook him.

"L-Lena?" Severus moaned painfully, his eyes fluttering open.

Helena brushed his hair out of his face and pressed a cool hand to his forehead which was burning up severely.

"Hush my love I will explain everything later, but for now we need to get you into bed," she murmured and picked up her wand.

She carefully levitated the wizard to his bedroom and stripped him down to his boxers.

Helena casted a diagnostic spell and almost fell apart over the readings. The two months that she had thought Severus had just yesterday had now turned into three weeks due to the fastened spreading of the poison.

"Not good?" Severus mumbled with his eyes shut, Helena couldn't tell him.

"Same as yesterday. You just get some rest my love, I need to go and work on the potion," Helena said as she pulled the covers up to his waist. Before leaving, Helena brushed the hair from Severus' face and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead.

Helena then rushed from the chambers. When she reached the dungeon corridor, she slid down the wall and started to sob.

She sobbed for minutes until she heard heels clicking on the stone floor.

"Helena?"

The young witch looked up to see Minerva standing over her with concern plastered all over her face.

Helena wiped her eyes and stood herself up before collapsing into the older witch's arms.

"Oh Minerva, he's getting so frail and at this stage he has only three weeks left to live. I'm scared that I'll lose him," Helena sobbed.

Minerva rubbed the distraught witch's back, "You love him don't you?"

Helena nodded, "I think I might."

Minerva patted the girl's shoulder, "You go and work on the potion and I'll keep Severus company okay?"

Helena nodded and then sprinted down the corridor to the lab.
