At least the weekends were less terrible now that Miku could do something other than follow her dad around with her infernal internship of the damned.
Nepotism.
It sucks more for those participating than the ones that say they're being left out. Like she wanted to spend all her free time with her parent. It made her look like a baby.
It was more fun making her brother cringe when he saw her playing with Neito anyway.
Especially when her friend copycatted her fire quirk and he'd wander around claiming to be Satan or pretending to be on fire. That made lots of people cringe. Or in some cases swear at them and threaten them with death-as if a mere explosion could dent the ifrit.
They played pranks like that and more since they met in middle school. Adding Tsukime had only made them worse. Seina just more reckless as she eliminated all concern of consequences thanks to her quirk being able to erase all evidence of their crimes or even put things back the way they were before Tsukime Overhauled it into something "better"."Mikushiba, why won't your brother talk to anyone!?"whined some girl Miku had literally known only a day since school just started.
It had been five years since her dad brought her to his home. She had believed at first it was temporary especially with how she didn't get along with any of her siblings other than Fuyumi but that uncle just heaped all his affection on her ignoring the shitty atmosphere and continued being a douche to everyone else. Especially the increasingly despondent Shouto his so-called heir.
Miku didn't think it was right at all.
She wasn't special and why couldn't she be the one to surpass All Might?
Her and Shouto-onisama were about equal in terms of strength but she could also overpower him since he was sucky at close combat.
In the present the girl she did not know but mentally dubbed as an "extra" was staring pleadingly like a cocker spaniel being eaten in front of.
"Um, Onisama isn't sociable is all. As expected of an ikemen." Did it sound like she was making it up?
What did it matter that her brother didn't want to talk to anyone on the first day of the first year of middle school?
Honestly, he went as long as a week not speaking at home, but she imagined nobody would know about that.
"It's weird how you talk about him." Extra junior high school girl B commented giving her an odd look. "Who calls their own brother an ikemen?"
"Someone that won't call you a dirty cunt to your face." A boy with a horrid smile and a manic gleam in his eyes butted into the conversation then.
"Ugh, Monona, go away!" Extra b waved her hand like shooing a fly.
He faked looking hurt,"Aw, mean!"
Turning towards Miku he grinned in a less psychotic way as he said,"Monona Neito at your service."
"Um,hi." Miku suspected this kid was not one to cross lightly.
"You and that other half-and-half guy look a lot alike. You stare through people the same too." Monona informed her bluntly.
"Sorry...?" People often said Shouto had mean eyes but never her. She was usually just seen as his cute sidekick and translater. Even functional mutes needed them sometimes.
"No problem, no problem. Stick with me,kid and nobody will bother ya." The odd boy looked entirely too gleeful.
"Yeah," extra b snapped. "Cos, they won't want to talk to you if you're friends with this baka."
Miku was intrigued. "Really?"
---
"Fuck,it's hot." Shouto groused on the way home from that shitty prep school halfway to Odaiba that shitty old man made them go to since it had the best pre-heroics department training.
"Ugh, yeah. And we gotta squash ourselves in with these plebs to go all the way back to Meguro." Miku glared at a salaryman getting too close before they even got on the train.
"The old bastard said he'd send you by car."he reminded her pulling her on his other side.
"If commuting is good enough for Onisama then I'll be fine too." She gave the same reply she did to the man she still called a flaming uncle sometimes.
But mostly "daddy" since it pleased him and she was very spoilt. The kid could get away with murder at their house. Even when she would stomp around in the yard making holes with her quirk Graviton.
It was just so easy for her, being that powerful, getting the old man's approval;all she had to be was her. Not that Miku didn't suffer in her own way over the years.
After all being powerful alienates you. Makes it obvious how different you are compared to others. How most are just so ordinary by comparison.
"Did you make a friend, imouto?"he asked as they shoved into the metal deathtrap that would take them to the station they would switch trains at.
"Exactly one." Miku replied not sounding too bothered but she always did have very modest desires.
She viciously jabbed at whoever was behind him apparently sensing he was being groped.
How lonely, Shouto thought. He may not have her to himself for very long. But that was probably for the best.
"Onisama should make friends. You're pretty so being popular is no trouble."
"No thanks." he dismissed.
"But how will you be king of the pirates alone?" Miku pointed out.
"I refuse to have this conversation." Better to put a stop to it before it really started."This is Chisaki Tsukime. Her bro's in the yakuza." Monona introduced a grumpy looking girl wearing a surgical mask. Her brown curls went everywhere but her dark eyes were very serious.
"Hi. I'm Mikushiba Miku." Miku observed other kids in their class at lunch keep a distance as promised.
"A pleasure." Chisaki-chan sounded bored. "I'm not interested in your brother so don't look so suspicious."
That's a relief, Miku wasn't sure her brother liked girls. Or anyone really.
From there was born a unit that did their best to cause mayhem throughout the school sometimes with the assistance of an upper classman that took an interest in them they called simply Seina-san. Just regular everyday kids that happened to be talented. All wanting to be heroes for different reasons.
Shouto-onisama remained aloof but girls seemed to like that sort of thing but people continued to think the half siblings were creepily close. His popularity tapered off a bit with an incident not that he cared.Yet all in all that part of their childhood was uneventful.I know nothing really happened but I think it's important to see the difference between their relationship then compared to the present. It's going to matter.
And if anyone wants to know about the incident I want a couple votes in exchange 😉.
