Chapter Three
I sat in the corner of the Business Studies room while Mr. Peter was babbling about his holiday and Eric, my friend, was sitting near the door, looking bored. Half way through class, the door opened and everyone stared in that direction. One of the new boys from the brother gang, walked in and he was the one that looked exactly like me.
"Hello, new kid. What's your name?" Mr. Peter asked with fake enthusiasm.
"Liam Will," he said in a bored tone.
"Go sit next to Miss Ivy. Please raise you hand," he said and I raised my hand.
We made eye contact as he walked over and I saw something flash through his eyes, it looked like hope, before it went back into the cold glare.
"Stop staring!" he snapped and I immediately looked away.
The class went on for another hour before the bell rang, signalling lunch. I was the first one to rush out the door and I ran into the cafeteria. Lining up, I got a sandwich and apple juice then headed to an empty table. Tamara and I don't have the same lunch time because our timetables are different, unfortunately. On the way to the table, I bumped into something that felt like a wall but I knew it wasn't because who would put a wall in the middle of the cafeteria?
Looking up, I saw the brother gang and all of their eyes were on me.
"Helen?" one of them asked.
I cocked my head to the side, confused, and said, "my name is Ivy."
"I'm Benjamin, that's Ian, Jacob and Liam. We're the Will brothers," Benjamin pointed at each of them.
"If you don't mind me asking, who is this Helen person?" I asked.
They all sighed and looked anywhere but at me. I found out that everyone in the cafeteria were looking at us and eavesdropping on our conversation. I was pretty sure the rest the brothers noticed as they asked me to follow them towards the field.
"She is our sister, but she went missing," Ian said, looking down sadly.
I nodded, not knowing what to say to them and started to eat my cold sandwich while they headed back into school but Liam stayed by.
"Just because we talked to you, doesn't mean we like you!" he spat and left me alone.
I pulled out a picture of my real parents and wiped the dust off.
"Why did you leave me, mom and dad?" I whispered as tears rolled down my bare cheeks.
Chapter Four
I arrived home after a stressful day at school, avoiding the Will brothers. I still wonder why they told me when I was a stranger to them. During school, I had forgotten about everything and instead my mind kept wondering to this Helen girl. Shaking away my thoughts for today, I took a hot shower and changed into sweatpants and a shirt.
My phone vibrated, telling me that I had a message. Opening it up, it read.
To: Ivy
From: TamaraHey Ivy! Picking you up in ten, get ready to go shopping!
To: Tamara
From: IvyYou know how much I hate shopping, right? But okay, I'll go, if there is food though!! Get ready your wallet because I'm hungry. :)))
I got ready to go to the mall with Tamara and wrote a note to my parents, telling them that I won't be home for dinner and not to worry about me.
Dear mom and dad,
I won't be home for dinner as I am going to the mall with my friend, Tamara. I may or may not sleep over at her house if that's okay. I'll call you if I need anything and if you want me to come back, just call me. I know you didn't save my number but it's fine. Here it is: 011-idek-720.Yours truly,
Ivy.I pasted it on the fridge and walked out the front door to see Tamara leaning against the passenger door.
"Hey Tam!" I shouted as I descended down the steps.
We hopped inside and she drove off towards the mall. She turned the radio on the the a few songs played by until we reached.
