Chapter 28 - His Confession

"We will go there early in the morning and let's check everything again after this." Nicholas said and he dismissed the meeting. I walked out to the plane to check everything again.

I walked inside again and walked myself to the kitchen. I poured a glass of water and drank it all in one shot. My eyes landed on Crystal who's currently sleeping on the sofa. I put down my glass and walked towards her. I kneeled down and held her hand. I kissed it and looked at her.

"Lucas.. come see me at the meeting room." Nicholas said. I kissed her forehead and walked towards the meeting room. I closed the door and Nicholas gestured me to sit down.

"I don't want you to be with my daughter." He said and I nodded.

"I know. I won't see her again after this.." I replied.

"Well I wasn't expecting you agree with me this easy." I looked at him seriously.

"I want to fight you. Fight for her and for us but I rather think again because I can't promise her to be safe with me. I don't have the confidence to make her happy either, I'm a killer. I killed people to live my life. I know it wasn't my choice in the first place but I had a choice. I chose to be bad. I hurted her a couple of times and I can't forgive myself for that."

"I like your daughter, sir. I fall for her hard. I admit that but sometimes.. life sucks right?" I laughed dryly and looked down to the table.

"Well.. I'm glad to hear that." Nicholas said and I looked up to him.

"Let me.. spend time with her for one last time." I begged him.

"Why should I? You're going to let her go anyway."

"Because this might be the last time I see her for real. Fighting Kristopher is like killing yourself. I beg you to let me spend a little time with her." I begged him big time. I used to have a big pride but now here I am begging at Nicholas Lemiere.

"One last time and if you dare to see my daughter again after this.. I will kill you." He pointed his index finger at me and I nodded.

"I promise." I said and he gestured me to go. I got out from the room and walked towards Crystal. I poked her slowly and she opened her eyes.

"Hey.." I smiled.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked and I shook my head.

"Come and follow me." I said and she sat up on the sofa. I gave my hand to her and she held it. I pulled her up and brought her outside. I pointed my finger at the sky and she looked up to the sky.

"One.. two.. three.. four.. and five." She counted the stars and then she turned to me.

"How's the meeting?" She asked.

"Pretty good, we will go there early in the morning." I answered as I put my arm around her shoulder.

"Marry me." She suddenly said and I turned to her disbelief.

"What?"

"Marry me.. you'll be safe with me and my family. You will be under our radar and no one will dare to-"

"You asked me to date and marry you in one day. Crystal Lemiere, you always surprise me." I cut her and she looked at me seriously.

"I'm not joking." She said and I shook my head.

"We'll talk about it later." I said and she sighed.

"If you dare to leave me after this ends.. I will kill you." She said and I smiled. I will remember that words in my mind.

"If your choice is to leave me after this ends, I will find you everywhere. Non-stop until I find you. I will go all around the world to find you. Remember my words and think about running away from me.. I will always find you." She said it like she already know that I won't comeback.

"What if I die?" I asked.

"I know you won't die but I know you will runaway from me and leave me alone." She said in a cold tone. I was speechless.

"I'm not dumb, Lucas. You're dealing with a smart girl. Don't ever think that I don't know your brain." She added and I smiled. I turned my head to her and put my hand on her head.

"What if you wrong? What if I promise to stay?" I asked and she turned to me.

"Don't give me bullshit." She answered and looked away. I laughed and walked towards my car. Opened the small drawer under my car. I took out my favorite necklace from my grandmother. I walked back to her and put it on her.

"It's my grandmother's. She gave it to me before she passed away. She told me to give it to someone that I love. My grandfather proposed my grandmother with this necklace and I want you to have it.." I said and she looked at it. It's a diamond necklace with a tear drop shaped.

I hugged her tightly and tears came out from my eyes. I caressed her head and prayed for her happiness in the future. I kissed the top of her head and just keep hugging her. I will protect her with all of my life and promise myself that no one can't hurt her. I swear with all my life that she will come home without a scratch.

I love you, Crystal. I will always love you. No matter what happens in the future, I will always love you and I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry.

I will miss you.
