chapter 11- meeting danny's family

                                          

                                                  

Danny’s POV.

Kate and I get to the airport; we get out of the car. I grab our luggage and we enter the building and go to the entrance of the gate to our flight

.

We go into the plane and Kate sits near the window. I put our stuff in the little section above the seats, and sit next to Kate and grabbed her hand. I could feel that she was nervous because her hand was all sweaty but it’s normal to feel that way. Kate turned her head and looked at me and smiled.

  

‘ Are you nervous about this,’ I asked Kate

She replied with yes and no, I’m excited to finally meet your family. Do you think they will like me?

I said ‘of course babe I told them all about you, and they said they love you already and can’t wait to meet you.’ Kate nodded and smiled, and put her head on my shoulder. We got interrupted by the speaker that we are moving. We both put our seatbelts on. Kate and I talked and then a movie was being put on. I didn’t know what movie it was. I think the movie was really boring. I think that the flight is going to be long. During the movie this nice lady brought Kate and I food. I went to eat it and it tasted so disgusting.

Kate’s POV.

So we’re on the plane to Ireland, and now were eating gross airplane food. I stopped eating it after the first bite. Good thing I brought some snacks with me. I told Danny to stop eating it. He replied with ‘why’.

‘Danny I know you hate the food’, I said to him

He shook his head and said, ‘I’m used to it now since I always fly’. I gave him a look and went to eat my snacks that I have. After we finished eating it was nearly dark so I decided to call it a night, it’s been a long day. I grabbed a blanket and put it over me and I snuggled up to my Danny. Danny put his head on mine and we gently fell into a deep sleep.

     The next day I was woken up by the sunlight coming through the open window on the plane. I sat up and yawned and stretched my arms. I turned my head to see Danny and he’s still out. He must have been tired, so I gently said ‘Danny wake up please,’ while pushing his arm. I guess I scared him and sat up and looked around and had his eyes on me. He gave me that look that had a goofy expression. He said ‘good morning and kissed my cheek, and of course I blushed like an idiot. I should be used to that but I’m not. Then we talked about all the things about his family more and his brothers and sisters. We got interrupted by the intercom came on and the lady said that we will be landing in Ireland soon. Both Danny and I looked at each other with excitement.

An hour later we arrived in Ireland, we got off the plane. Went through the Ireland airport and went to get a cab outside. Danny and I are outside trying to get a cab, but it’s difficult and finally we got a cab because it’s freaking freezing out. After the luggage is packed in the trunk we get into the cab and Danny gave the driver the directions to his mom’s house.

                                          

Danny’s POV.

Kate and I are in the cab going to my moms house. I can feel that she is nervous because she bits her lip when she is. I put my hand on top of Kate’s and squeezed her hand tightly. She looked at me and smiled. It didn’t take that long to get to my mom’s, we got there in less than twenty minutes. The cab parked in front of the white two story house. I opened the door to the cab and felt excited to see my family, and it was a nice day. I took Kate’s hand and we walked up the driveway.

            

‘’ wow your mom’s house is beautiful,’’ Kate said to me.

‘I know it’s good for her and she’s happy because she’s around her children’, I said to Kate.

Kate smiled at me and I knocked on the door. I heard someone come to the door and opened it. It was my mom with a huge smile on her face.

Hi mom, how are you,’ I said to her

‘I’m good Daniel while hugging me tightly and she turned to face Kate who was standing there behind me, and said ‘who is this lovely girl’’.

Mom this is my girlfriend Kate remember’. I said

‘Oh yes I do, it’s lovely to meet you dear and walked to Kate and gave her a hug. How can I not know you, Danny talks about you all the time’.

Kate’s POV.

I and Danny arrived at his mom’s house, where at the front door and this woman answered the door. It must be Danny’s mom; she was short and had brown hair.

I said ‘hi Mrs. O’ Donoghue’, and she hugged me. Dear you don’t need to call me that call me Alisha, I said ‘okay’. She was funny and I really like her, all three of us went to the kitchen and talked. She was telling me funny stories that Danny did when he was young. Some of the stuff she told me was so funny that couldn’t breathe from laughing so much. I think Danny was a little embarrassed by some of the stories. I walked over to Danny and sat on his lap and kissed his cheek. Alisha was watching us and said ‘aww you two are so cute and a cute couple’. I blushed a little and hid my face over my hair. Danny asked when his brother and sisters were coming by. Alisha said they were coming by later after dinner. It was only five thirty in the evening and was eating at six. We all talked about ourselves and how I and Danny met. I told her how we met and how Danny sung to me, it was really romantic.

      An hour later Danny was in the living room watching TV, and I was helping Alisha with dinner. We were enjoying each other’s company. Alisha is a great mom and I want to learn more about her. I think I will be able to trust her with anything even though I just met her today. We are definitely family, oh yeah we are staying with his mom for five days. After cooking everything for dinner it was finally done and we could eat. I took my apron off, and I walked into the living room and told Danny dinner was ready. He said okay and I shut the TV off and we walked hand in hand to the kitchen. We sat at the rectangular table that went good in the big kitchen. I sat in between Danny and his mom. We all ate in silence until I started a conversation about something random.

When we were done I helped wash the dishes. When the dishes were all done we all went to the living room and watched a movie. All Danny’s brothers and sisters came over and we all chatted about ourselves it was very nice to get to know them more.

After the great night I had I was tired from having a good time and laughing. I told everyone that I was going to bed. It was a great night and I’m glad that Danny brought me to his hometown to meet his family means the world to me. They are all lovely and they seem to love me and know a lot about me. Of course they know me Danny’s mother said Danny never shuts up about me. I think that’s so cute and sweet and I love him so much. I fell asleep with a smile on my face to this perfect and long day. Tomorrow will be another good day I think.
