when you forgive but can't forget

chapter 9- Days after

                  Kate's  POV.

     Ever since  that day I saw Zack I couldn't sleep throughout the night because I kept having nightmares about him hurting me and killing Danny. Also I would wake up in a coat of sweat and screaming. Danny would comfort me and I would fall asleep again. Danny knows how tired I am because I tell him about all the dreams I have whenever I close my eyes and cant sleep. Danny would look at me and hug me and tell me that everything will be okay. I nodded and put my head on his chest. I fell asleep when I was in Danny's arms for a couple of hours. I woke up rubbed my eyes and looked at Danny and he was watching tv, so he looked down and notice I was awake and said 'your up did u sleep okay'. I nodded my head and said yeah I didn't have nightmares this time. Danny said 'that's good and kissed my head'.

   After Danny and I watched some tv in our room, I dragged Danny downstairs and into the living room and sat him down on the couch and asked him if he wanted anything to eat. Danny said 'yes please but let me cook for you'. I said 'okay' because I'm not going to argue with him because I would loose. So he went into the kitchen and cooked.

        Danny's POV.

            I was in the kitchen cooking for my baby. After ten minutes of deciding what to cook, I was making baked chicken with potatoes. I was putting the chicken in the hot oven and I accidently burned my hand. I yelled 'what the hell that freaking hurt'. I closed the oven door angry and put my hand under  cold water. The next thing I knew was Kate was next to me all worried saying 'babe are you alright', with my hand in hers. I told her 'I was fine', but it just hurts. But she decided to check my hand anyway. Did I mention that Kate was a nurse at the hospital down the road. She was new at it, but she was a good nurse. After my accident we went to the living room and watched a movie till dinner was ready. After the movie was over, I checked on the chicken and it was done. I yelled 'Kate babe dinner is ready'. She came in and sat at the table. I placed the plate in the front of her and she said 'it smells so good baby', but I didn't know you could cook. 'Yeah I cook sometimes and smiled at Kate and got up and kissed her head and sat back down.

             After dinner I was helping Kate with the dishes. We both were singing hall of fame together and having a fun time. I got to say she was a good singer, I might have to have her sing at a club on karaoke night, but I don't think she will. Kate tells me that she doesn't sing well, but she is wrong. When the dishes were done Kate told me she had to get ready for work. I kissed her and she headed upstairs.

      Kate's POV.

     I told Danny I was getting ready for work. I kissed him and headed upstairs to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I got out of the shower and put a towel around myself and went to our room. I got dressed quickly in my uniform which was a purple short sleeve shirt with matching bottoms. I put my hair in a high ponytail and put my white sneakers on. I work in the emergency room at the hospital at nights. Some days are busy but some are not. I love my job and I love helping people no matter how crazy it gets. Anyways when I was done I went downstairs and went and told Danny that 'I'm going babe I will be back at seven in the morning', while looking in my purse. Danny got off the couch and came over to me saying 'alright be safe I love you', and kissed me multiple times. 'I love you too', I said back. I kissed Danny one last times and walked out of the house to the car, but I felt like someone was watching me but I ignored it.

      I got into the car and drove to the hospital which was like 15 minute drive. As I approached the parking lot I got that feeling again. I got out of the car and headed for the entrance. I walked in to the front desk and said hi to my friend Sarah that was working tonight with me. Sarah asked 'how I was'. I replied with 'I'm okay', I haven't really told her about what happened. She asked why, is everything okay with you and Danny. I told her that Danny and I are fine and that I saw my ex, and I was scared and had bad dreams about him hurting Danny and myself. Sarah told me to be careful, but I know that I have Danny, mark and glen. After our conversation I went to check on some patients I had and they all went back to sleep, the night wasn't that busy and it was only 2 in the morning. So I decided to help sarah out with some paper work for the new patients we have. Sarah and I finished the whole stack of paper work and it was already 4am. We talked for a little while and I asked sarah if she wanted a coffee or something. She said 'sure', do you want me to come with you. I said 'no I'll  be fine', and walked outside.
