One Night In A Haunted House - The Pals

Chapter 2

Alex turned to Sub, who dropped them off but didn't get out. "Aren't you coming too?" he asked. "No, this is you guys' punishment, not mine." Sub replied before driving off. Corl scoffed as he left. "Whatever, we'll prove to him that we're not babies, we'll make it back tomorrow and rub it in his face." he said, obviously annoyed by Sub's actions. Sketch looked at his friend sympathetically before nodding. "Well, we gotta go inside first." Denis said before walking towards the front door. Alex rushed to follow him, and the others followed reluctantly.

As Alex walked in the front house, he was amazed by how old and beautiful it was. The ancient decorations were gorgeously old fashioned, and they looked Victorian styled. "Woah..." he whispered in awe as he stopped to admire the room. Denis simply walked past him saying, "Come on, Alex, let's go see if there are enough bedrooms for all of us to have separate rooms." Alex was snapped out of his thoughts, and he shook his head before going to catch up with Denis. He low key hoped for there to not be enough rooms; Alex didn't like being alone. And he may or may not have had a slight crush on Denis...

Sketch walked into the house accompanied by Corl, who stopped him. "Woah, Sketch, look how pretty everything looks!" Corl exclaimed, grabbing Sketch's arm before he could pass by. Sketch looked around. 'The house does look really pretty, but not as pretty as Corl...' he caught himself thinking. 'No, what am I thinking? He's just my friend, who's probably straight anyway.' Sketch turned his head away, pretending to look at the decoration to hide his blushing face from Corl. Had he seen?

Corl let go of Sketch's arm when Denis came back in, followed by an Alex with a red face. "Bad news guys, there's only two bedrooms. Either we'll have to share beds, find some way to not share beds by sleeping on the couch, or somebody can sleep in the bathroom." he said. Sketch shook his head. "There's no way that I'm sleeping on the couch in a famous for being supposedly haunted house, and I'm definitely not sleeping in a bathtub. Any other bright ideas, Einstein?" he said angrily. Denis and Alex collectively shook their heads. Corl shrugged. "I'm okay with sharing a bed, as long as nobody makes it weird."

Alex nodded. Denis sighed. "Alright, I'll bunk with Alex since you two need your time alone." he said, smirking. Sketch felt his face turn red. "W-We weren't doing anything weird! He was just showing me the, uh, decor." he stuttered, realizing that Denis didn't believe a word he just said. Sketch sighed, giving up. "Yeah, okay..." he mumbled, trying to think of the positives. He gets to share a bed with Corl!

Alex put his hands together, trying to lighten Sketch's mood. "Let's all explore, and see if we can actually prove if there are any ghosts here, which I doubt there are." he suggested. Corl nodded enthusiastically. Before anybody else could say anything, an eerie groan rang throughout the halls. Alex jumped. Sketch silently moved an inch closer to Corl. "What was that...?" Denis whispered. Corl sized himself up, trying to look cool, and said, "I'll go see what it was. You guys stay here." before walking into a hallway to their right.

"It'll make more... more sense if we split up, right? Should... should we do that?" Alex suggested, not really wanting to go out alone. Sketch nodded and took off into the right hallway after Corl. Denis walked into the left hallway without saying anything. Trembling, Alex followed him. 'Good thing there are only two hallways,' he thought, 'Then I won't have to leave Denis.' After walking through the hallway for not even two minutes, it split up into two different paths. Alex looked through the right one and saw the disappearing figure of Denis into the darkness with his flashlight. Alex sighed before walking into the left hallway himself.

'Here goes nothing...' he thought as he took a shaky step forward, before being grabbed by something out of the darkness and pulled into a closet, making him drop his flashlight.

(It's less boring, I guess. Also, they're not gonna do anything weird in the bed, I swear!! Just sleep!!!)
