Chapter 8

The pilots were given the green light to blast the oscillator. Poe, his squad, the red squad, and blue squad, which is the squad Jinjan was in, and they entered hyperspace.

"Roger, base--red squad, blue squad, take my lead." The Black leader commanded, and the rest followed.

"Dropping out of lightspeed." Yolo Ziff, a pilot of the blue squadron, said as they drop out of lightspeed.

With concussive blasts, the x-wings appear and roar past towards Starkiller Base.

At a distance, the x-wings drop from the sky and towards the hexagonal oscillator, dive bombing it.

"Almost in range! Hit the target dead center, as many runs as we can get!" Poe commanded once again. Jinjan flew past him, diving in and dive bomb the oscillator.

"Approaching target." Snap commented.

"Let's light it up!" Poe exclaimed, and all squadrons began dive bombing, hitting it dead center in quick succession. However, with no success.

"Direct hit!"

"But with no damage!"

Jinjan sat in her cockpit, scared and worried. Having no idea what to do. Then, Qui-Gon spoke through the force, "Don't be scared, young one. Trust the force."

With reassurance, she nodded, and heard Poe's commands:

"Yeah, we gotta keep hitting it! Another bombing run! Remember, when that sun is gone, that weapon will be ready to fire! But as long as there's light, we got a chance."

Jinjan's droid, C1-P5, began beeping nervously and excitedly in the back of her x-wing. Jinjan looks out, and can't believe what she's seeing: dozens of tie fighters emerge from the base!

"Guys, we got a lot of company!" Poe exclaimed.

The x-wings dogfight with the tie fighters on the surface of the snowy planet. Ships are screaming past each other. Jinjan's fighter nearly collides with a close-passing tie fighter!

"You all right, Jin?" Vincent cried to Jinjan.

Shook, Jinjan gulped and sighed, "Yeah, I'm fine. That was a close one!"

Snap has a tie fighter chasing him, and asks for cover.

"I got one behind me. See it?" Snap asks in a panic.

"Yeah, I'm on it!" Jessika replies in a hurry.

Jinjan cannot take in what was going on around her. She is in a life or death situation, she cannot believe it! Then, she sees a missile shred an x-wing fighter that was shot right next to her.

She looks to the side of her in shock, and begins to breath heavier.

"Furillo's been hit!" Jess exclaims.

"Watch out for ground fire!" Snap yells.

The x-wings roar across the sky, blasting and dodging the tie fighters and missiles.

Blasting a tie fighter, Vincent lets out a woo! and twirled is x-wing into the explosion.

With little happiness, Jinjan smirks, but the smirk goes away as she looks over to see another x-wing being taken by a TIE fighter. And she immediately felt a dark force rise around her, and the light to meet it. It distracted her, but then she had to keep her focus.

"We have two x-wings down. We only have half of the fighters left!" Jinjan exclaimed.

Poe says, "We still have to give that oscillator some damage. Continue to bomb!"
