It Felt Like The World Stopped

"If you do this I will never speak to again." Maya stated hoping it would make him change his mind, but he really wanted to make his Pappy Joe proud again.

She walked out of the tent and he felt like the world had stopped.

He turned. "Maya, wha-" He was so confused and he really hoped his friendship with Maya wouldn't be ruined when this was all over and done with.

Maya watched from afar as Lucas walked to the bull with Riley. She watched him get on the bull. The seconds ticking by painfully slow until the door flung open and the bull freaked out trying to get Lucas off.

The bull succeeded.

Lucas did not.

Maya stared with wide eyes and a dropped jaw, her face foze in fear, as Lucas' body hit the dirt.

She felt like the world had stopped. Riley ran to Lucas and removed his helmet. Maya could hear her calling to him, then she heard Riley scream for Pappy Joe in a panic. She watched as Farkle ran out to Riley and Lucas followed by Pappy Joe.

Fear shook her.. No, wait, it was Zay. Zay shook her arm to snap her out of her trance. She turned to him and saw his lips move, but all she heard were her own words from earlier on a loop.

I don't want you going anywhere near that bull!

I want you to take off that stupid outfit and I want to go home!

There won't be anymore Lucas!

If you do this I will never speak to you again..

Zay shook her again, but she barely blinked so he pulled her arm and she subconsciously followed him to a truck.

They drove to the hospital behind an ambulance.. An ambulance that had Lucas in it.

Maya desperately hoped that Lucas would be okay.

Hope is for suckers.

She swore that if he was okay she would speak to him again.

I will never speak to you again.

And then she swore one more thing to herself if Lucas would be okay. If he would survive this.

I will tell him how I feel.
