Chapter 22

The next day

Rydel POV

I woke up by myself and realised that ellington had already left. On his side of the bed had a note lying there.
Went to the supermarket to buy some milk. I'll be back to make u breakfast! ;)
P.S. Love you

That put a smile on my face. I quickly put the note on the bedside table and went to take a bath.

I changed and walked down the stairs. I looked at the clock 11.07am. Where is Ell? I walked to the living room to grab the house phone and call him.

*ring ring* *ring ring*

He didn't answer. I felt like sick in the stomach. Something's wrong.

I put on my converse and drove to the nearby supermarket that we always go to. Once i parked the car and was walking there,i heard loud commotions and ambulance and police siren noises. I pushed through the crowd to see what was happening. That was when i saw my ellington lying motionlessly on the ground with paramedics surrounding him. I ran pass the police who was blocking the crowd and immediately towards him. I dropped on my knees and held his hand.
"Ellington! Oh my god...... Ell...... Baby.... Please don't do this to me!" I was crying so much and pleading for him to wake up. He was bleeding so much because of a stab on the left side of his lower body.
Soon the paramedics brought him into the ambulance and i followed them to the hospital. I held onto ratliff's hand the whole time hoping he will squeeze mine back. He was lifeless and was wearing a oxygen mask. A paramedic was pressing a blood-soaked cloth on his wound.

I waited. And waited. And waited. The operation room light was still on. Soon,i heard my name being called out but i couldn't even move. Our family had arrived and Riker was shaking me calling out for me.
"Rydel rydel.. Ohmygod.... Its gonna be okay." He said hugging me. I put my arms around him and began sobbing into his chest.

Hours had past and i finally lifted my head to see Cheryl sobbing and everyone seated around waiting.
The lights were finally off indicating that the operation was over. I raced out of Riker's arms and towards the surgeons that were coming out.
"You are?" The surgeon kindly asked.
"Rydel Lyn... Ratliff,his fiancee." I said. "Is he gonna be okay?"
"I'm sorry m'am,but we aren't sure. Luckily,the wound wasn't fatal and missed his kidney. But he lost too much blood and is now in a coma. It's up to his will-power if he's gonna wake up." He said and walked away leaving everyone stunned.
I heard Cheryl cry loudly and my mum saying "No....". I could not even process the doctor's words. I was about to drop on my knees crying but two pairs of strong arms stopped me. Riker and Rocky. I cried into Riker's chest saying "No.. Why.........."
"Shh...he'll be alright. I know it." He said gently rubbing my side.

Everyone had seen Ellington and was going home. One by one they left. Cheryl and George were so devastated but they believed that they're son would wake up. Dad hugged me tightly then left. Ryland,Riker and Rocky said the same thing. Mum approached me and said "oh my baby girl....." She hugged me tightly. "He WILL wake up. Just give him some time. He won't wanna see you sad ok.." She kisses my forehead and leaves. Ross is still here and he's looking down at his feet.
"Ross." I said. He lifted his head revealing the saddest eyes.
"I'm sorry Rydel! I'm sorry.... " he says beginning to sob.
"It's Joe isn't it?" I asked hard faced.
He nods and apologises. I told him to leave and i sat down by Ellington's bed looking down at his pale white face. I began sobbing and ended up falling asleep by his bed.

I was awaken by the ringtone of my phone. It was a message from an unknown number.
'Next time,he's dead.'
And then everything went black.

A/N: Wow.... Hardest chapter i've ever written.. Don't hate me coz i made Ell almost die ok.. Its a fanfic so its an alternate universe. But i promise this story will have a happy ending. :)
