I sat on the bus, leaning my head against the window. When the bus stopped abruptly, I figured it was hitting an animal. It's not our fault the stupid thing ran into the road... I thought as I looked out the window. Surprisingly, I wasn't on the road still. Then, I heard a gruff voice shout to where I was sitting, "Are you getting off or not?"

I grabbed my bags and walked off, glaring at the driver. I saw, who I'm assuming to be my camp counselor, standing by a boy in a blue hoodie. They were both looking st me, making me feel uncomfortable. "Uh... hi..." I said, looking at the man, then the boy.

There was nothing special about the boy. He was taller than me, seemed nicer than me, and was probably happier than me. But something about the way he smiled st me made my face grow warm. Finally, someone spoke after a few seconds.

"Hi, (y/n)! I'm David! And this is my son, Max!" (>>) the man said, signaling to the boy. I waved, "yeah, uh... can we just cut the crap and let me to my tent?" I said as I tilted my head, obviously uninterested. The man smiled, "of course! Max, mind showing her?"

Max looked at his dad and nodded, "sure!" He beamed, grabbing half of my bags and walking to the tent area. "This camp is really fun! There's multiple activities to sign up for!" He said, walking in front of me. I blushed slightly, hearing his chipper voice set something off. I hated it, but... not?

He kept talking, cutting himself off when we got to my tent. "Here it is! And luckily, I'm your tent buddy!" He exclaimed. My stomach churned. What? I'm sharing with this fucking weirdo? I thought, my face growing warmer. Max then gasped and grabbed my face. "Your face is red! Are you feeling okay?" He asked.

His hands were, somehow, cold in contrast to my body heating up. I pushed his hands away and walked into my tent, "get your fucking hands off of me! I'm fine!" I growled as I began unpacking. Max walked in with my other suitcases, "I'll help you!" He said as he began unzipping my bags. I would have snapped at him, but something, and the fact that he was naive, didn't let me. So, I just let him.

I saw him pick something up from the corner of my eye. I dismissed it as a shirt or hoodie, then he asked, "You have a stuffed bunny?" I felt my body grow hot with embarrassment. I whipped over and snached up the bunny. "DON'T TOUCH THAT!" I said, my voice raised. He sat there, a look of innocent and a small hint of fear in his eyes.

I immediately regretted shouting at him, before he smiled and said, "I have a stuffed bear, see?" He said, grabbing a teddy bear off of his bed. I felt my gaze soften, but I just sat, continuing to unpack.

When we were done, he took me to the mess hall. I sat next to a table where I found some kids who seemed like they weren't interested in this camp either. I was going to introduce myself before Max walked over and said, "hey, (y/n) was it? Wanna sit with my friends and I?" Without letting me speak, he grabbed my hand and took me to a table with his "friends".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~TIME SKIP OF A MONTH LATER ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a month into camp. I wouldn't admit it, but I enjoyed Max, Nikki, and Neil. They were really nice, but I would never say anything. Anyways, we were on a trip into the city. David set us up into teams, us being with our tent buddy.
Max and I walked around, he was talking about how he was exited for new activities and what not. I got bored, and he was annoying me. So, I grabbed his hoodie collar and pinned him beside a building. "Stop being so fucking cute! It would be better for me if you weren't so peppy and adorable and-" I blushed, letting go of him. He was blushing too, smiling.
"Y-you think I'm cute?" He stammered. I glared at him, still blushing, "Shut the fuck up! I didn't say anything! You're delusional as shit!" I snapped. He walked over and hugged me. "Fuck off!" I said, still blushing. He leaned his head on mine. I knew he was smiling that adorable smile he always did.
"If I kiss you, will you fuck off?" I said, immediately covering my mouth. He looked at me, his face red. I felt like my head was going to explode. He timidly nodded. I grumbled, and reluctantly placed a kiss on his cheek. "Tell anybody and I'll cut your limbs off!" I said, blushing. He smiled and grabbed my hand, "let's go back. My dad is probably waiting for us."
I shrugged, walking with Max. For the first time, not when I was laughing at someone, I smiled a genuine smile. It was all because of that cute dumbass. I laughed, and lay my head on his arm.
We got to the area where everyone met up. I quickly went to my normal stance, crossing my arms and looking pissed. That meaning, I let go of his hand and took my head off of his arm.
Nikki and Neil walked over to us, "sup!" Nikki nearly shouted. I shrugged, letting my mouth curl up into a grin. Neil looked at Max, "what did you guys do?" I glared at Max from the side. Max smiled and said simply, "we just looked at stores, nothing much!"
I smiled on the way back to camp, sitting by Max. I set my head on his shoulder and made sure the kids next to us weren't looking before I kissed him on the mouth. I could clearly see that he was surprised. I quickly pulled away and sat leaning on the window.
I guess he's okay...
