Chapter 5: The illness

"HAWKEYE SERIOUSLY!" Both peter and Vienna shouted
"Hey shut up you two, it's not a big deal" Carina said
"Yeah totally because he's not an avenger and I totally wasn't fighting against him in Berlin" Peter said sarcastically,
"Yeah because it definitely wasn't hard for me to know that he was locked up after that fight" Carina replied sarcastically, Vienna nudge peter
"Carina what aren't you telling us, we can tell that there's more to this" Vienna said
Carina took a deep breath
"He doesn't actually know I exist, my mother died before she could tell him and before you know it was kidnapped"
"Oh, I'm sorry" Vienna said whilst peter was silent
"It's alright you didn't know" there was silence "this is too awkward I'm gonna carry on...basically I was kidnapped by assassins and terrorists, they trained me, kept me alive but back then I committed so,so,so many crimes, I regret all of them. When I was 11 I knew what was going on, so I ran for it, not knowing what was gonna happen. Anyway after that I lived by myself, luckily the CIA took me in but unfortunately I've never really had a family, just the occasional friends and now I regret that finished with that" Carina sighed
"Hey, everything is fine now, besides we can be your siblings now, since the three of us has never had any" peter smiled
"That's actually not a bad idea" Vienna smiled
"Okay okay, enough with the cheesy talk, we're here, behind those trees" Carina stopped in front of a very large house which was hidden by trees. It was as if it was a mini Headquarters, it had a training room, infirmary.
"Holy hell" peter said and Vienna was silent in shock
"You're rooms are to your right, do whatever you like I'm just gonna cook something" Carina said
Hours later Vienna was rewatching the tape of Tony still rethinking what was going on. However soon enough Carina finished baking some cookies for Vienna's birthday.
"Vi, I've got some cookies" she shouted but there was no reply. She shouted again but it was still silent
"Peter" she yelled and soon peter found Carina
"What's up?" Peter asked
"Have you seen Vienna?" She asked
"No, oh god that's not a good sign" he added, for the next 5-10 mins both of them were searching for Vienna and calling for her, but there was still no reply. From the corner of Carina's eye she saw a That the projector was on in one room and so she ran, she found Vienna unconscious on the floor, she was definitely not sleeping
"PETER GET IN HERE!" Carina yelled, she checked her pulse, it was irregular. Examining Vienna she saw that she had some kind of bloody markings on her right arm that ran all the way up to her shoulder, it looked as if someone had drew on her with a knife. She shook Vienna who woke up immediately hyperventilating
"What the hell happened?!" Carina said worried
"I don't know" Vienna said breathing fast
Peter ran in
"Oh my god! What the he-"
"She doesn't know, help me get her to infirmary" Carina said whilst she and peter got Vienna up
Once they reached the infirmary, Vienna felt back to normal again
"I just began to lose conscious and I felt pain, then after everything began to shut down" Vienna said
"Well it's obviously not that thing on your arm, that maybe the problem" Carina said whilst she took a blood sample from Vienna, Vienna breathing was stable
"I have a feeling this illness of some sort has something to do with my-"
"DNA" peter said as he examined her arm "the chemicals that were supposed to contain your power, no doubt that it's-"
"Fading away" Carina finished, looking at the computer "it seems that from your prick this morning and the blood I took now, the concentration of chemicals in your blood has lowered"
Peter put on a glove and touched the mark, it had no effect
"But that doesn't explain why she experienced unconsciousness and pain"
"Hey Carina you have a lab right?" Vienna asked
"Yeah why?" Carina responded
"Well I'm pretty sure all three of us are good at chemistry, who's up for making medicine?" Vienna suggested
"Vi, the amount of trials-"
"I don't really have a choice" Vienna interrupted peter, peter gave her a look of worry
"Before we do anything, i think it's best we get some rest, we still have to go to shield's Headquarters tomorrow" Carina said giving peter and Vienna a cookie.
