Taylor's P.O.V.

Staring at my bedroom door, I couldn't believe that my mom had tried grounding me earlier. I was just running a little late. Besides, I had a good excuse for being late. But there was no way I was going to fess up to that. My phone went off.

Taking my purse off my shoulder, I opened my purse and began to dig through it for my phone. Pulling my phone out, I then tossed my purse off to my side. The text was from Ray. My heart beat faster as I opened the text.

Ray: Everyone, party at my house tonight! Parents left a day early. PARTY TONIGHT!

Smiling, it was a good thing that I had bought that outfit earlier today. Or else I would have to wear something else that I already had. The home phone began to ring. Tossing my phone onto my bed, I had to get ready now. Quickly, I unchanged. My mom yelled from downstairs.

Ignoring her, I continued to change. Footsteps came up the stairs. Then there was a knock on my door. Was it really that important? Taking my robe off my hanger, I put it on over my outfit.

The robe hung to my knee, so it was the perfect length to cover my high waisted shorts. My mom knocked on the door again. I rolled my eyes. The door flew open. Quickly tying the belt of the robe, I then crossed my arms.

"Mom I'm changing!" I screamed. My mom looked at me confused. She walked up to me. She laid her hand on my cheek, then her other hand on my cheek. Then she brought her hands down.

"Sweetie you're a little warm....And pale," my mom said with concern. My mom was just worrying too much. I knew I had to change the subject so I could go out.

"Anyways can I go out tonight?" I begged. My mom shook her head. I rolled my eyes.

"So who was that on the phone?" I asked with no emotion. Right now all I needed was an excuse to get out of here. My mom sighed then looked at me sadly. She was being hesitant.

"That was Selena's mom. She invited our family out to dinner. We were going to talk about Selena and what she did. Can you believe she did that?" my mom asked. I shrugged, even though I could believe it. Selena had run off 5 days ago. They knew where she was. So what's the big deal?

"I wanted you to come. But you're in no condition to come." my mom said. Having a slight smirk on my face, I now had an excuse. And a good one. I began to cough.

"Yeah mom, I would love to go. But I feel sick." I said while throwing realistic coughs between my words. My mom signaled for me to get into bed. Walking over to my bed, I then crawled under the covers. My mom pulled the covers up to my face. She sat down on the bed next to me.

"Well you won't mind if your dad and I go out will you?" she asked with concern. Shaking my head, I continued to couch. She smiled then got up from my bed.

"We should only be gone for a few hours. Actually maybe longer. You know Mandy, she liked to talk a lot. Expect us to be back late." my mom explained then walked over to my door.

"I can't believe you wanted to go out." my mom muttered under her breathe while leaving my room. 'I can't believe you fell for it.' I thought. Laying in my bed, I waited for my parents to leave.

"Taylor we're leaving now! I hope you feel better!" my mom hollered.

"Kay!" I yelled back. The front door closed and I waited for them to lock it. The front door made a loud click.

Springing up from my bed, I peeled my robe off me and threw it on the floor. Slipping my black flats on, I ran into the bathroom. Plugging my straightener in, I looked at myself in the mirror.

I didn't even look like I was sick. My mom was just too worried about me. Opening the drawer, I pulled out my mascara. Quickly, I applied a coat then put the bottle back in the drawer. Picking up my straightener, I straightened my hair then unplugged it.

Walking out of the bathroom, I looked at the wall clock. Already past 8:30.Wow, Mandy had a really late dinner. My parents haven't even been gone for 10 minutes yet.

Running down the stairs, I needed to get to Ray's house. Grabbing my keys oyt of the bowl, I went out the front door. Locking it behind me, I rushed to my car. Getting into my car, I drove off to Ray's house.

---------------------------------------------

There were so many cars parked on his street. Eventually I found a parking spot. But it was 2 and half blocks away from Ray's house. Getting out of my car, I looked it behind me.

I began walking to Ray's house. Tons of people were going to his house. Following a  group of people into Ray's house, Ray closed the door behind me. He smiled at me then looked me up and down then back into my eyes.

"Kinda thought you weren't going to show up," Ray admitted. I looked at him confused.

"Why wouldn't I?" I asked. He shrugged. I rolled my eyes. He smiled at me then quickly pecked my cheek. He then grabbed my hand.

"So you ready?" Ray asked. We began walking through his house. His house was beyond crowded. Pushing past people, I kept a tight grip on Ray's hand.

"For what?" I asked. He smiled.

"To have some fun." Ray said.
