It was break time and both friends were in the library.
"What's that you're reading?" Peter asked Ben.
"Nothing." He said, trying his best to hide the cover. Peter wrestled it out of his grasp and read aloud.
"'Speaking in the frog tongue' you really won't give up, will you?"
"It's so we can communicate."
"You have fallen so in love, you are willing to learn frog to speak to her?"
"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"
"Everything!" Peter shouted.
"Bon, Peter?" Mr T Ranquil's voice crept over the book shelf behind them. "Who is this frog speaking girl you talk of?"
"Some ugly kid called Hildegard." Came Peter's reply. One of the books on the shelf was pushed out and Mr Ranquil's left eye could be seen poking through the hole that the book had just been.
"I'll have you know that she is my daughter." He said in a deep tone.
"Really? Who's the mother?" Peter asked.
"I've had enough of you."
"Actually, sir," Ben started "I think your daughter is very..."
"And I've had enough of you!" Mr T Ranquil yelled.
"Shhhh! It's a library." Peter whispered. Mr T Ranquil scowled at them from behind the book case and disappeared.
"Well things just got a whole bunch more awkward." Peter remarked.
"I didn't even do anything." Ben sulked.
"Good luck when you meet her folks." Peter joked "Does this mean you're going to drop the whole love thing?"
"Never." Ben said stubbornly.
"WHAT?"
"Shh, we're in a library." Ben whispered.
