"So if her dad is a crazy hippie, then who's her mum?" Peter wondered.
"How am I supposed to know?" Ben replied.
"You just struck me as the kind of guy who would find everything out about a girl you liked."
"I'm not that creepy, am I?"
"You're willing to learn Frog Tongue just to speak to her."
"And?"
"Maybe her mum's a frog..." Peter began again.
"Don't be stupid. She's probably a very wonderful woman."
"If you're into toads." Peter joked "Why would Mr T Ranquil fall in love with a toad anyway?"
"Stop asking dumb questions." Ben growled.
"Sorry, I'm just curious. Perhaps she doesn't have a mum!"
"Of course she does!" Ben exclaimed "who doesn't."
"What if Mr T Ranquil is actually a robot vessel for the frogs that created her! Should we press his ear and see if his face opens up?"
"Can't you accept the fact I'm in love?" Peter asked.
"If she were a normal person, perhaps. But that girl is not normal, if you could even call her a girl."
"Hildegard is a perfectly normal human being."
"I think we need to visit an optician." Peter muttered under his breath.
