Much much later, Ben was standing behind the abandoned factory at 12:35. No sign of Hildegard.
"Perhaps she forgot." He whispered to himself, "I really thought she would come." A single tear squeezed out of his left eye and froze on his nose. At that moment, a shadowy figure stepped around the corner of the building.
"Hildegard?!" Ben shouted hopefully. It froze and looked in his direction. This wasn't Hildegard, it was too tall and thin, it also was also worth mentioning that it had a glowing red left eye. As quick as it had appeared, it disappeared, leaving nothing but a sense of confusion and strange recognition inside of Ben's head.
Another 5 minutes passed with no sign of Hildegard. Ben was ready to collapse into a puddle of despair when something tapped him on the shoulder. Spinning around, Ben was so full of joy to see those beautiful features. A glance to her sides confirmed that friends had been brought along.
He introduced himself:
"RIbbIt-ribbiT-Ben."
"RiBBiT-riBBit-RIBbIT-riBbIt." On of the friends snarled. They all had thick, slimy lips which Ben had to admit, did look like a frog's and a strange greenish yellow colour to their skin.
"RibbIT-ribbit-RiBiT?" Ben asked.
"RibBiT." Another replied coldly. Ben's eyes widened in fear, that wasn't good: 'RibBiT' means to kidnap (or also to attach wings to a pig and launch it into space, but that hardly ever comes up in day to day conversation).
Suddenly, a flash of light sent one of the friends flying into the factory wall, another into some bins. Hildegard looked around trying to spot the source, but Ben got there first. The figure from earlier was standing, face in shadow with a strange looking weapon in it's hand. It aimed it at another of the friends and they too were hit by a beam of light and propelled through a window.
"RUN!" it shouted at him with a heavily distorted voice.
"Where?!" Ben yelled back.
"I dunno, home would be advisable!" it replied. Ben turned, but was faced with a face he knew and loved, Hildegard.
"RibBIt." He muttered and kissed her on the cheek before bolting home like a spooked cheetah.
