I thought about it. I knew that smoking isn't good for you, I've got that nailed into my head watching my mom.
"No thanks." I smiled.
"Suit yourself. So what are you doing back here?" He asked.
"I was going to walk home."
"Ahhh."
I stole the one head phone that wasn't in his ear.
-Weightless by: All time low.
I smiled remembering the chat we had about that song.
"After we talked about it I haven't stopped listening to it." He smiled. His smile was very warm, a pure genuine smile. One that can light up a room. One that when your in a crowd it catches your eye. We looked at eachother and then a new song song came on. I recognized it. "On the bright side by Nevershoutnever"
When the chorus came on I sung along:
"Your only as tall as your heart will let you be,
And your only as small as the world will make you seem,
And when the going get's rough and you feel like you may fall,
Just look on the bright side your roughly six feet tall"
"True words to live by."
"Yeah for you, your about 6 ft." I giggled.
"So I guess your heart wont let you be tall, eh?" He joked.
"Shut up!" I play-shoved him.
He laughed with me. My phone went off and the ringtone was oddly 'Weightless by all time low'
"What is it with that song?!" I asked noone in particular.
"Maybe it's fate, it's our song." Hunter smiled.
I giggled. I checked my phone. 'New message from Trevor :) '
-Angie, where r u? r u in trouble?!
I clicked reply and my fingers flew across the iPhone keyboard.
-im fine. Just talkin 2 a friend :) I'll b home soon.
"Who are you talking to ?" Hunter asked
"Oh noone" It just came out. Trevor wasn't a noone but, I was reluctant to tell him. I don't know why though. "So, why are you back here?"
He frowned "I try and um stay out late."
"Why?" I asked softly, I didn't want to seem to pushy.
"Family problems." He whispered.
"Oh, believe it or not I know how that feels. I uh was adopted because my mom abused me." Kay, let's get it straight that I would NEVER tell anyone that I just met, about my family problems but, Hunter knew how it felt. And it would comfort him to know that I knew what he was going through.
"Yeah, it's tough. It's not that they abuse me, they abuse eachother with the words they exchange." he said.
I scooted closer, put my head on his shoulder "Useless, Worthless, waste of oxygen, needy, stupid, never amount to anything. Those kinda words?"
"Uh yeah" He grumbled.
I met his eyes and grabbed his hand "Hunter, THOSE are the words that make you worth something, a great use of oxygen, makes people need you, smart, and amount to the greatest things, because we hate being called something we fear being. Hunter, you are none of those things and don't let anyone tell you different." I smiled.
