Rose Mortimer:
I was peacefully asleep in my bed, dreaming about skittles and chocolate when I felt a wet thing on my cheek. I groaned pushing the thing away when I felt fur and a little whimper was heard.
I shot up wide awake and was greeted by the cutest thing in the world.
"Ohhh my gosh, hello you little puppy! Hi!" I kept cooing picking the golden retriever in my arms getting squashed in kisses. His little body all existed in my arms thrashing left and right and whimpering in excitement.
"I think I might get jealous of all the attention you are giving him. Maybe getting you a dog for your birthday wasn't the best of ideas..." I looked up to meet with those brown eyes I've fallen in love with and smiled widely at him.
"You got me a puppy?" I squealed. He just nodded and smirked back at me.
"Thank you thank you thank you!" I screamed letting the dog stay in my bed as I ran up and jumped into my boyfriend's arms.
"Let's take you outside," I called the dog that followed me straight away.
We headed to the garden, my family were probably getting ready for the day as nobody was in the kitchen when we walked past.
I was letting the dog run around in the flower beds. Mum is gonna kill me but right now I'm too happy to care.
"I can't believe you got me a puppy. You know my parents don't want pets in the house. And you can't have any at the gang house." I frowned running my hand over the puppy's soft fur.
"I know, that's why I bought myself a house." I froze in my actions looking up at him since he was standing and I was sat on the grass in my pyjama's stroking the puppy.
"You bought a house? As in, you will live there, by yourself?"
"Yeah, and I'll keep this little guy with me till you decide to come move in with me and then we can start our lives together. The University isn't far if you ever decide to go there." he was now sat next to me.
"Wow." I was shocked he was planning way ahead. I know I love to plan things in advance but to buy a house? Now?
"Where is it?" I didn't dare to look into his eyes, I wasn't brave enough.
"Not far from here, about a thirty-minute drive out of town, but not too far out. We can still walk into the centre of the park to walk the dog." I nodded my head and took a deep breath stroking the puppy that had now taken refuge on my lap.
"You still have time to think about it. I don't want you to start over thinking this... Gosh, I'm so stupid I shouldn't have said anything... I just got carried away and-" I didn't let him finish. I leaned over and crashed my lips into his.
"I may be a little over thinking things but I'm sure that when the time is right all the things will fall into place. I'm glad you have taken your independence from the gang house." I smiled sweetly at him, which he returned.
