I was falling through a portal, into a bright light. My eyes set on one thing, the light and my death. When I stepped through the portal my eyes were opened wide as I looked around the beautiful place of white. People walking around and having fun. I stopped, though, seeing my dead triplet sisters, Faithe, Hope, and Charity, along with my father. They were smiling as I ran over to them. “Dad, girls! You have no idea how much I missed you!” Just as soon as I saw them, the were gone. Their smiling faces were gone, my happy sisters gone.

I sat down on a bench and a girl walked up, looked like me. She smiling and motioned for me to come. I followed looking around and gazing. She led me down a road near this tree. She stopped when she got to a fence.

“Go on, It’s your time. Go.” she told me, her smile beautiful and lighting up wherever we are. Her voice was sweet, and calm, as she urged me toward the tree. I looked at her confused.

“I’m not dead, im not crossing over. Not yet. I know that I’ll wake up.” I told her. Staring at her, trying to read her mind. To find out Though, I realized that my powers were gone. I looked around at all the people. Nothing. I could read no one. She shook her head, her voice still steady and calm. “Your not able to do that here. It’s a law, and the master controls it.” her voice was a little shaking on her second sentence.

“Where are we?” I asked her confused.

“You honestly don’t know?” she asked. She began again after I shook my head. “We are in Bealeton.”

“I thought that was in Virginia.” I told her. She gave a small laugh and replied to my sentence.

“No, There is a Bealeton, Virginia. But this is a different place. It is known as a land for the dead, or spirit users. This is where the dead…. Well, cross-over into heavan or hell. You know, like your family. You were in darkness before you came here, god was deciding whether to send you here or to that other land. Velia, is a place for the dead that have done wrong. Much like this but darker, and scarier. Not happy and white. You were worthy of coming here, and for that you should be grateful.” she smiled another sweet smile and nodded to me as she silently walked away. I was just about to open my mouth to ask what was going on and why she was leaving, but everything suddenly went black again.

I was floating there for about a while, but I felt happy. Despite the darkness that surrounded me, I was at perfect peace. I was not able to see, but I could hear the spirits talking all around me. All these people waiting to move on to either land. Then every sound stopped, every feeling stopped. I stared at the darkness, unsure of what to do. So I relaxed, and stayed there.

I woke up later that night, well, I think it was night. I was laying in the bed of the dorm rooms, Jadelyn by my side, and Jeyden staring at me guilted with what he had done. Swearing to himself for being unable to stop himself from hurting me. When I met his gaze I could tell, that he wanted to stop the sounds in my head, but couldn’t. I knew something was overpowering him. Something or someone.

I tried to sit up, but my body was so weak it went limp. It was hard to breath, and I couldn’t hear.

“Jeyden!” I yelled. Trying to get him to turn. I tried yelling his name over and over. I felt stronger after waiting a couple minutes. Then I got up. And walked around the room. “Jeyden. I’m here!” I stood before him, waving my hands in front of him. But he looked right through me. I tried to hug him, but my arms went straight through him. After a couple minutes, it finally clicked. “I’m dead.” I whispered. I shook my head in terror. “No, I can’t be. I need to go back.’ I told myself. Once again, the world went black.

After another couple minutes I was back in Bealeton. That girl was not there, but the shops, and the ponds were there. I took in the beauty once more and sat down at a table in front of Los Gravure’s coffee shop. A small girl wearing a beret with a thick French accent came to take my order.
