a/n sorry for the late update. So, does Jungkook stay with Taehyung in his and Yoongi's shared apartment or not? hehe...

Yoongi was beginning to regret this decision. He frowned as he felt guilt pool in his stomach. Before he had been caught up in the moment, it had all happened at once- he hadn't had much time to think it through. He hadn't really thought about how sketchy this seemed or to interrogate Jungkook until he was convinced the younger was saying the truth, that he loved Taehyung and regretted what he had done.

"Wait here," Yoongi stated in a gruff voice as him and Jungkook stood outside his apartment door. The last embers of sunlight filled the sky, painting the usual monotonous blue in fierce reds, delicate yellows and soft pinks. Jungkook frowned as he watched Yoongi's hand leave his pocket clasping a key which he shoved into the door's lock. "Why?"

Yoongi paused and turned his head to look at Jeongguk with an incredulous expression. "Why?" he mocked. Jeongguk gulped and nodded slowly. The sun cast shadows on his skin and Yoongi could see something unfathomable swirling in the darkness in Jeongguk's eyes. Yoongi narrowed his eyes, a small satisfaction growing within him when Jeongguk shifted under his piercing stare. He didn't like that attitude the younger was giving him nor the fact he couldn't discern what was in Jungkook's eyes.

"Because I'm going to have to tell Taehyung that you're staying with us. You, you Jeongguk. Even if you love him now and understand what you did was wrong and that you acted like a dipshit, Taehyung thinks you're a monster."

Jeongguk stiffened at that. It made a mirthless smile grow on Yoongi's lips. Where had the cocky bastard gone? This was the true test if Jeongguk had changed.

"He thinks you're a monster, I don't know the details of what happened. But I can tell it's traumatic. Heck," Yoongi inhaled and exhaled shakily. He tilted his head to the sky and squeezed his eyes shut. He opened his eyes after a while and glanced at Jeongguk who was staring at him with brown unscrutable doe eyes.

What was going on this kid's brain?

"Just saying what Taehyung thinks about you is making me regret this even more. Maybe I shouldn't have done this, you know?" Yoongi continued, he narrowed his eyes at the younger. "There's this lingering fear and suspicion in me that you weren't being honest with me beforehand. And if I found out that suspicion was true..." Yoongi trailed off. His gaze intensified and Jungkook found himself feeling threatened by the cold dark eyes that were staring at him. He gulped, consciously feeling every movement of his pharynx muscles.

"It won't be though," Jungkook replied and he found it hard to stop his voice from turning hoarse and made a valiant and successful effort to sound confident and sincere. His hands uselessly clenched and unclenched by his side, they dangled awkwardly from his shoulders.

"I hope so," Yoongi replied and finally, finally moving his gaze elsewhere, freeing Jungkook of his piercing stare.

"Stay outside, I'll come outside again later and tell you if Taehyung agrees or not." He twisted the key and grimaced as the door didn't budge.

"If Taehyung says no, I can't stay?"Jungkook questioned voice trailing off at the end. Yoongi found himself biting the inside of his cheek when he heard it was said with an incredulous tone.

He turned his head back around, staring back at Jungkook again and the younger found himself regretting answering the question with Yoongi's harsh stare directed at him again. "Look here kook, right now Taehyung is my priority. You hurt Taehyung, if he doesn't want you here then I'm not going to punish him and force him to let you stay here. I might have let you stay but Taehyung hasn't yet. Besides the reason you want to stay here is that Taehyung's here, right? You need to respect his wishes."
