a/n I didn't realise that I hadn't updated this fanfic since Feb 13th, I just thought I had forgotten to update last week, not like 3 weeks ago. Sorry, <3 I will update more! *Determined face* + I don't mind if you guys comment on a new chapter, it motivates me <3

I was just casually scrolling through bottomtae tagged fanfics and I opened a few vkook ones in new tabs which I wanted to read and then when I checked how many tabs I had opened I swear to God there were about twenty fanfic tabs. I don't even understand where they all came from ;-;

The taste of coffee was bitter on Taehyung's tongue. It lingered there and had an acerbic flavour that he despised, but he couldn't find it in himself to remove the taste. It was horrible, but he felt himself liking how horrible it was. Maybe that's what happened to a person when they had too many horrible things happen to them - they began to like horrible things.

He frowned. Another sip of coffee and he felt the liquid bitter down his throat. Floating candy-canes, he hated it.

"I thought you didn't like coffee?" Yoongi inquired, his voice coming from behind Taehyung.His green hair was tousled and although he had changed his clothes and freshened up there was an element of the morning about him. Maybe the way that his voice was gruffer, or the way that he looked half awake and soft and fuzzy was what made him that way.

Taehyung just grinned, it was emotionless and Yoongi knew it. The man was not happy. "I thought I didn't too." The werewolf raised a brow and shook his head in mild disbelief.

The apartment went quiet for a while, an awkward silence that had Taehyung itching to tap his foot against the floor or drum a pattern on his leg using his hands. Yoongi broke the silence "About that talk..." Yoongi's voice trailed off. Taehyung couldn't help the frown that formed on his face.

"Do we have to have it?" Taehyung's voice was weak in the suffocating silence. The younger gulped more coffee. Bitter, and more bitter. The perfect flavours that he craved right now.

There was a pause. A sympathetic look from Yoongi. More coffee went down Taehyung's throat. Too bitter. "Please Tae, if you really don't want to hear it then I won't force you to hear the entire explanation - just a few words." Taehyung sighed in response and nodded. There was no sensation of victory in Yoongi as he sat down next to Taehyung and began to speak.

The world was shades of bright yellows and golden hues as Yoongi began to speak. Taehyung mused if it would change when Yoongi finished. Would the sun still be there? Or would it just be light - cold underneath all the brightness?

"You and Jungkook are mates," the words sounded blunt in Taehyung's ears. There was no escaping it. He recalled what Yoongi had said yesterday, ' destined together'. It sounded horrible. Would he and Jungkook really continue to meet unless they mated? He didn't try to stop the shiver that crawled up his spine, a predator of fear.

Slowly he found his hand gravitating towards Yoongi's. The werewolf clenched his hand reassuringly when Taehyung entwined their hands. It was His anchor to home, something reassuring and protective. Yoongi would protect him.

"That's why Jungkook kidnapped you because you're mates and supernaturals only get one mate in life - one they were destined to be with, one true partner. The Luna Goddess picked you two to be mates, something that means that you were naturally meant to work out; your chemistry, your personalities, your habits. You were meant to fit together."

Yoongi let it sink in for a few minutes. He felt the hand entwined with his clench against his own.

"Do you remember what I said yesterday too? About Jungkook being brought up in a community which was against humans?" Taehyung nodded his head. Yoongi sighed and pulled Taehyung into a hug for a few seconds before letting go.
