The attempted assassination

~Granny's flashback~
"So 'Granny' how bout you give us some of those fine looking kids. Bet we could earn you a fortune with them."

"No way! These children are not for sale!" Granny flashed an angry look. The towering men laughed at her.

"Listen here lady your poor there's no denying it. You sell some of the kids you'd have less mouths to feed. What's the issue?"

Granny stared dumbfounded. These men were seriously annoying her. She couldn't sell the kids.

"I'm grateful for your offer but I'm NOT selling anyone. Now if you could let me past."

One of the men took hold of granny's arm. Twisting in an unnatural form she screamed in pain.

After hearing the scream people ran to the alley searching for the source. The men ran making a 'tch' noise.

~End of flashback~

Third person POV:
(Y/N) stood up. Anger boiling in her veins. "So you don't know who they are?" 

Granny shook her head no. "Granny stay at home and rest. I'll return with some medicine during the night."

"There's no need to go through that much trouble (Y/N). I'm grateful as it is."

Looking down sadly at the lady (Y/N) pecked her cheek in a loving fashion. "Your like a second parent to me. I'd go to the end of the earth for you if I had to."

With the (Y/N) left the building. Speeding back home. Completely oblivious to Obi's presence.

Sneaking back into the palace she returns to the library. If anyone questioned her she'd lie saying she was here the whole time.

Obi sat quietly on a tree keeping a close eye on her.

Obi POV:
She's lying as if it's nothing. Whatever she did in that run down place must've been important.

Her bag is gone to. Wonder what was in it. "Obi are you there?" Looking down I spot master with Miss.

Jumping off the tree I walk towards them. "I'm here master. What's up?" "How's (Y/N)?"

"Been reading at the library this whole time. Why what's up?" Beckoning me over to whisper I listen.

"Apparently Shirayuki saw her down in town. But she wasn't too sure so she stayed quiet."

Moving away from me he smiles "But if you say she's been there all day then no worries."

I don't know why I just lied. Maybe curiosity got the better of me. "Brother Zen!"

We all turn to look at the window. Standing there waving like mad is the princess.

A bright and cheerful smile plastered on her face. Zen went to wave back only to notice a figure behind her.

The hooded figure pushed her breaking her balance. She started falling down. At my top speed I run towards her falling figure.

Master on the other hand races to the library in search of the hooded figure. Catching her falling figure was an easy task.

But what came after wasn't. We hit a tree underneath us. Scratching both me and her.

Hearing a quiet "ow" I felt is being spun. The princess'es back was now facing the ground.

With no time to spin us around we hit the ground. The miss ran to us worriedly.

I look at the princess and her unconscious figure laying below me. Standing up panicked I gently shake her.

"Princess (Y/N) wake up! Do you hear me? Princess!" I felt a hand hit me and saw Shirayuki looming over us.

"Calm down Obi. Carry her to the infirmary where I'll take a look at her." Doing as I'm told I look down at her.

She made no noise neither did she move. I can't believe I got protected by the person I was supposed to protect!

How lame. As if noticing my anger the Miss placed a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry. She'll be fine."

Noticing the shake of her hands I realised that she was panicking too but kept calm for me.

~Time skip after being in infirmary~

Obi POV:
I gently layer her in her bed. A peaceful look covered her face. Her eyes started twitching when they burst open.

Her body jerked up. Scanning the room in a panic she calmed down. "Obi what ... what happened?"

Looking down at the ground shamefully I answer "You protected me from that fall. In result you become unconscious for the rest of the day."

Attempting to stand up her legs give. Gracefully falling on to the soft pink carpet her eyes met mine.

Neither of us moved but we just looked into each other's eyes. Hearing a quite murmur she stood up.

Her small shaky hand placed it self on my head and started moving. "There there kitty. There's nothing shameful."

Stunned at her comment I laugh. Her hand stopped moving. Retracting it she started apologising.

"I'm so so sorry I didn't mean to just touch you. You seemed down and your hair just looked so fluffy. Sorry I couldn't stop myself."

I bursted our laughing tears going down my eyes. "No worry Princess. I hope it was as soft as you thought."

Red went across her. Taking the chance of teasing her more I continue. "Just shuddup! Okay I got it. I did something stupid. Leave me alone you stupid kitten!"

Her hand reached and she threw the pillow at me. Smacking me on the face I looked at her.

Her hair was a mess and her eyes were staring angrily at me. Noticing a different shine in them her body starts to fall.

I catch her cradling her body in my arms. She had slipped unconscious again.

Placing her in her bed I cover her with her blanket. Master comes through the door.

Worried at the sudden noise. He looks to me then at her spotting the pillow on the floor.

"She threw it at me when I was laughing at her." "That explains it. Well the hooded person has escaped. I want you to stay watching her all night. It's not safe for her."

I nodded. Master left the room and I just sat on the floor. Feeling my own conscience fading.

I felt my face meet the carpet but couldn't find the strength to move. I stayed there slowly falling asleep.
