Where I explore the ADAPT base and play my first prank there

-

Penny awoke at 5:43 am.

She didn't have a clock, but at least she had JARVIS. She figured the door would be locked, but tried it anyway. It was locked.

Great.

She got dressed so long, twisting her hair into a braid that showed the white streak a little. She put on her necklace while muttering about the necessity of a watch, and scribbled in her notebook until she heard the characteristic "click" of the door unlocking.

Penny slipped out, and asked JARVIS to direct her to the kitchen.

"Which one, Miss Penny?"

"There's more than one?" Penny asked incredulously, trying to ignore the 'Miss Penny'.

"Yes, there's four," JARVIS explained, "two on the first floor, one on the second and one on the third."

Penny sighed, and was saved by Rocky, who stepped out of his room at that moment.

"Hi Rocky!" Penny greeted him, and she could've sworn she saw a flash of disappointment cross his face, "do you know which kitchen we were in yesterday?"

"The one by the dining hall, why?" He asked casually.

"Well, I was asking Jarvis to show me the way, but he didn't know which kitchen I meant."

Rocky smiled and raised his eyebrows.

"Jarvis not knowing something? That's new."

JARVIS muttered something almost inaudibly about ambiguity, and Penny mocked surprise.

"I didn't know AI's could mutter," she commented.

"Only when you insult them," Rocky replied, and he began to walk towards the elevator, "the twins go around trying to find out which nickname he hates most ever since they read a fanfiction in which an AI exploded. Also it's perfect for blackmail, appearantly."

Penny laughed, and they stepped into the elevator.

"Penny?" Rocky bit his lip.

"Mmm-hmm?" Penny hummed for him to continue.

"Would you mind leaving me alone this morning? It's nothing personal," he hurried to add, "I just like to spend some time alone in the early mornings before breakfast. I'll meet up with you again in the kitchen when Sarah's done running."

The elevator's doors opened again, and they walked to the kitchen in silence.

"Please?" Rocky turned at the back door, and Penny gave in.

"Okay fine. Is there any fruit here?"

Rocky found an apple and threw it to her, before grabbing the peeler and leaving before Penny could change her mind.

With a sigh she sat down on the countertop and took a bite out of the juicy apple. She ate it in silence, as far as you can be silent while crunching on an apple, and heard Rocky whistle for Torpedo.

When she'd finished she threw the core into the bin and plodded out of the kitchen. She explored the first floor, finding, amongst others;

- a pool table, a piano, an indoor swimming pool, a big classroom, and another door that led outside, where she found;

-another two swimming pools (somebody must've really liked swimming, because they were both Stark-sized), a volleyball net, a table-tennis-table, a dart board, and the start of a jogging track.
