"Hey, man. Want a drink? You seem like you need a break," Toni (Antonio), Melissa's brother said. I was painting his room today and he had skipped school for a reason I don't know and he was hanging out with me as I painted.

"Yeah, sure. I need a break. Im done anyways. At least with this room," I said.

"Okay I will be back," he said and left. He soon came back with two beer bottles. Corona's. He handed me one and I popped the bottle cap off using my car keys.

"Thanks, man," I said and I gulped down half of the beer.

"No problem. It was nice hanging out with you. I'm gonna head out. Bye," he said and I said bye to him as he left the room.

Since I had nothing else to do that day, I went on and painted Mr.Fuentes and his wife's bedroom now that they were not there.

I painted for a while until Melissa walked in.

"Hey, I was looking for you," she said. Looking for me? Why would she want to do that?

"Yeah? Why?" I asked while I continued painting.

"I wanted to see if you wanted to do something. Watch a movie, go out to eat, walk outside, anything?" she asked shyly.

"Okay. I think I want to walk," I said. I didn't even know why I wanted to.

It was really nice outside but it was also awkward. Well, the beginning was.

I was walking beside Melissa with my hands in my pockets.

"What are you studying to be?" I asked.

"I want to be a teacher. Just like my mom except that she is a math teacher and I want to be an English teacher," she said.

"What about you?"

"I'm not in college. If I were, I wouldn't be painting while your taking your classes," I said.

"Why aren't you?"

"Well.....lets just say that I couldn't afford it," I said.

"How?"

"Can we talk about this another time?" I sighed.

"Of course," she said like it was no big deal.

My phone started to ring. Noah. I picked up right when I saw it was him.

"Hey, Noah. What's up?"

"I can't go today or for the next few days. Sorry. I have a problem," he sighed.

"What is it?"

"I fell down the stairs and I sprang my ankle," he said. I burst out laughing.

"What stairs? You live in a dorm!"

"College. I was going to my class and I was texting and somehow I fell."

"Well now you learned your lesson," I laughed.

"Yup." I realized that Melissa and I were still walking and she was just being quiet while I was talking.

"Well, I gotta go. I'll see you soon," I said and hung up.

"Sorry," I apologized to Melissa.

"It's fine. It's getting dark. Do you want to go back to my house?"

"Sure," I said.

We were chilling in the family room watching a horror film. We were watching The Uninvited. It was awesome. It surprised me that Melissa was so into it. She seemed like the kind of girl that would be like, 'I can't watch scary movies! I will scream and get nightmares!'. I laughed to myself at the thought.
